Booked the Lakin private tour today and had Enrique as our guide. They did excellent in pivoting between english and spanish to help all in our tour group. Very informative and kept our kids and adults engaged throughout the whole tour. They gave us plenty of breaks to drink water and rest our legs (brutal humidity) and even took a good amount of time to take pictures of us. Highly recommend this tour company and Enrique as a guide!

We arrived early before the heat and the crowded. So our guide Francisco took amazing photos! He is very knowledgeable, knows everything about Maya culture, rituals, game, drawings on the ruins, history, Maya calendar and zodiac sign, was very interesting! Recommend to book in advance (we did night before) as they charge more in the ruins.

Visiting Chichen Itza did not disappoint thanks to the superb service from Maria and the team at Experiencias Lakin Tours. From my first enquiry to our guide Gabriel, the experience was first class. Maria’s communication was the best I’ve ever had from a tour company. Thanks. Gabriel knew all the key facts and even the best spots for photos. Highly recommended.

Maria was my tour guide, and she was awesome! I learned a lot from her while we walked around to see each historic sights. She even taught me how to count Mayan numbers, and showed pictures of what it looks when the temple was first discovered. She is Mayan descendant, very knowledgeable and fun to speak with. The whole tour was very smooth, and it was a great idea to start at 8 am since I was able to see its quiet and solemn side when most tour groups haven’t arrived. I already recommended it to many friends after I came back.

Traveled with our kids aged 13 and 11. We got so much more out of our visit to Chichen Itza with our wonderful tour guide, Maria, than we would have on our own. Maria was excellent and super prepared with photos to explain different things about ancient Mayan culture and history. She really put all of the incredible sights into context and was great at answering questions and keeping us engaged. The tour was very well organized and they reached out in advance to give us detailed directions and tips. Tips: Definitely book first thing (8am) to avoid crowds and heat. We were done by about 11am. Hats/umbrellas and sunscreen are a must. If you're traveling from Quintana Roo (Tulum, Cancun), note that Chichen Itza is in a different time zone! This actually worked out well for us, because we had to get up early to make our 8am booking, but not quite as early as we would have if it was in the same time zone. There were no problems or tolls driving from Tulum, but watch out for the speed bumps and perros callejeros. :)
