    Enjoy the tranquility of your early-morning visit before the crowds arrive. Learn how this large pre-Colombian city played an important role in Mayan civilization from around A.D. 600 to 1200, and remained a center of worship and pilgrimage until the arrival of the Spanish. Even today, it is still considered a sacred site by the Yucatán peninsula’s Maya population. Like many of ancient Mexico’s cities, the site was abandoned, and its ruins were hidden by jungle. Hear how the site was discovered and unearthed by archaeologists, gaining UNESCO protection and considered today one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Your guide will explain the philosophy, cosmology and mythology behind this ancient site, such as the meaning of the stone carvings, pyramids, platforms, ball courts and staircases. Visit the Temple of the Warriors, The Ball Game and of course the famous El Castillo, also known as the Temple of Kukulkan.

The bus was perfectly on time. The driver Manuel was very careful and drove excellent in the rain. Our guide was Beto. He was very knowledgeable about the culture, astronomy, and the archeology of the site. He made the tour enjoyable by keeping everyone involved and informed. Would definitely recommend!

The early Tour is the best Option. When you arrive there are only a few people and when you leave so many tourists are there waiting in line. We a had a fantastic guide called Frank. He had a great knowledge about Chichen Itza and the Mayan History. 10/10 the Guy and the early access Tour.

From the pick up Amigo Tours was professional and thorough. Ramiro and the other guide were amazing! Very informative and helpful. Initially was booked for just the Chichen Itza tour but was upgraded to the full day with the Cenote & Valladolid. Could’ve easily been done without the stop to Valladolid. It’s a quick but there’s nothing really to do there. Would have loved to keep my original booking for just Chichen Itza. We got to Chichen Itza at about 8:30 which was great! There weren’t that many people so it was perfect to capture pictures without a bunch of tourists in the background.

Incredible introduction took to Mayan Culture

Beto was a fantastic tour guide! You can tell how passionate and informed he is about the Mayan people’s past and present. His demonstration of the Mayan number system and astronomical observations put into context why the Maya built Chichen Itza the way they did. However we feel like this is more of an “introduction” to Chichen Itza. We felt 2 hours is not quite enough to explore, it is a HUGE site. The Cenote afterwards was gorgeous!
