Overview

Fall in love with Mouraria and the food it has to offer, right next to the downtown of Lisbon! Enjoy over 6 tastings hand-picked by your foodie local host, just for you. From local portuguese dishes like the codfish or the octopus salad to unique dishes like Gambas Wa Malu or the Shrimp Bowl; you’re in for a treat, so bring your appetite. During this culinary trip in Lisbon, you will experience the variety of the cuisine in Lisbon, and most especially Mouraria, where you will also learn a bit about its history and it’s importance to the city. Start with a codfish or shrimp cake, and learn a bit more about fado and Severa, a somewhat mysterious, famous and short-lived fado singer that grew up on that very street. Experience one of the most famous snacks in all of Portugal, the codfish salad as you learn more about the neighborhood. End your trip throughout tasty Alfama in the viewpoint right next to the Restaurant, where you can enjoy one of the best views in Lisbon.

Sofia was amazing!

We loved Sofia and our food/history tour in Lisbon. Sofia was kind and knowledgeable and took us to places we would never have known to go to ourselves. She taught us about Portuguese and Lisbon history that was interesting to even our 7 year and she accompanied to her picky eating. Sofia was wonderful to spend time with and we would recommend her to anyone traveling in Lisbon.

Our tour with Ângelo was amazing from start to finish! He has so much knowledge about the history of Lisbon and Portugal. We explored places of Lisbon that we never would have explored without him. The food and drink stops were great. Everything was hot and fresh and we didn't even have to wait in any lines. I will recommend this tour with Ângelo to anyone I know. Thank you!!

We had a fantastic, delicious and informative tour with Angelo! He is really knowledgeable about the foods we tasted and the history behind them, and full of information about Lisbon and Portugal. Angelo took his time with us and the pace of the tour was leisurely -- we stayed longer than the 2 hours. Afterward he sent us a recap of everything we learned, plus tips and suggestions for other places to visit. The price of the tour was really reasonable for the experience. I would 100% book this tour again, especially with Angelo, and would book other tours with Withlocals.

Amanda was affable, knowledgeable and super cool. She answered all our questions and was accommodating in starting our tour early on a National Holiday. She took us to interesting places we never would have found and where she had connections with local vendors. I would go on another tour with her in a heartbeat!
