Official Alactraz Tour : After the "SF-Woods-Sausalito" part of the tour, you will be dropped off at Alcatraz Landing where you will catch the ferry.
Duration: 3 hours: The Alcatraz Audio tour is around 90 minutes, you have an option to stay longer or take the ferry back.
Alcatraz Ferry: You will take a ferry to and from Alcatraz Island.

Overview

All of our tour guides are Bay Area Natives, which will help you understand what it’s like to grow up in SF and now live here as grown ups with our own families. You will enjoy an introduction to San Francisco on this 5 to 6 hour tour that includes a trip across the Golden Gate Bridge to Muir Woods National Monument. You'll be driven around the city to see its diverse neighborhoods and geography, stopping several times for photo ops. At Muir Woods, admire the towering redwood trees, and visit the waterfront town of Sausalito for lunch (own expense). Works great for people coming from cruise ships. You cannot book the Alcatraz option under 4 days in advance.

Meeting points

Go to the corner of Beach and Hyde street, where the cable car turns around. A white minibus that says “SF Excursions” on the backside of the bus.

    Muir Woods National Monument is home to some of the oldest and most beautiful trees in the world. Many of our guests consider this stop to be the highlight of their trip.

    The Palace of Fine arts was built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific exposition in order to exhibit fine arts.

    If you haven’t chosen the option for an Alcatraz ticket then you won’t be going to Alcatraz. If the option isn’t available to book then you won’t be going to Alcatraz. You will go to Alcatraz if you choose the Alcatraz option.

  • Alcatraz Island

    NOTE: Admission Ticket is only included if you choose the product Option with Alcatraz ticket. Visit Alcatraz, if option selected at the time of booking. You will be dropped off at Alcatraz at 2:45pm for a 3:20pm ferry departure time. Your time on the Island is 2-3 hours. The actual audio tour is 90 minutes long.

Our tour guide Pear was very good. He knew a lot about the history of San Francisco and the areas we visited. The bridge of course was stunning and the Muir Woods were amazing. Great timing too- just the right amount at each stops

Amazing day out in SF

We had a fantastic day out. I did book through Viator but if I had known about SF Excursions after reading an advert on the bus I would have booked direct and supported the business. We were picked up at a certain point. Sully our guide was polite, helpful and very informative. We had water and snacks provided. We stopped at photo stops , visited many sights throughout SF, with Sully always telling us about the information on the area we were in. Drove across the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, visited Muir Woods a beautiful peaceful haven, back to nature. Then onto Sausalito we had lunch there, alovely town with beautiful views across the Bay. Then back over to Fisherman’s Wharf to take a boat over to Alcatraz. That was also very good and interesting. Back on the boat and we had a leisurely walk back to our hotel. Sully also played music throughout the trip. I would recommend this trip to anyone visiting San Francisco. Thankyou for making our trip to SF so memorable.

We arrived as Per was parking the bus which was very clean and comfortable. Our host Per kept us entertained all through the journey with his funny quips and his excellent knowledge of the areas we visited. The trip provides just the right amount of walking and sight seeing from the bus. An excellent experience all round
