We will start this tour with a panoramic view of Paseo de Montejo, the most emblematic avenue of the city while you discover its history.

Monumento a la Patria

During this guided tour, we will make a stop at Monumento a la Patria to discover the meaning of each symbol printed in this monument and will capture the most emblematic picture of Merida. Then, you will taste the traditional Bolita de Queso from Merida, a sweet bread filled with cheese.

Mercado y Plaza Santiago

We will arrive at a traditional Mexican market where you will taste the fruit of the season and hot just made Mexican tortilla. Also we will visit the most popular and famous spot in the market where Don Pedro, the owner, will serve you a Cochinita Pibil taco and other antojitos Yucatecos (snacks), like turkey salute or panucho. In addition, in this visit you will learn about the recado rojo(one of the main condiments of Yucatecan cuisine).

We continue visiting the most emblematic places of the City, its alleys, corners and Barrios, the original neighborhoods since the colonial period, to discover its importance to Yucatecan local people. Barrios Santa Ana, La Mejorada, The Ermita and Santiago will be visited with panoramic views learning about the history. Then, we will continue walking through the 60´s street while your guide will tell you curious facts and the history of various places located along this street and enjoy the traditional Chaya and pineapple fresh water and taste one exotic artisanal gelato.
