Overview

Unique tour departing from Olhão, Capital of the Ria Formosa with lunch included at a fisherman's house. Typical lunch made by a fisherman. There will be 3 or 4 typical food choices. Drink, coffee and dessert included. There will also be a guided tour of the fishing village to learn about the way of life of this unique people in Portugal. Visit with three stops on the islands. Armona Island, Farol Island and Culatra Island. Very enriching tour where you will have the opportunity to make three stops. You can also learn more about the fauna and flora of the Ria Formosa natural park. Binoculars for bird watching will also be provided. Tour adapted to clients, tides and weather. Lunch is paid separately at the kiosk before the tour. Adult €25 Child €15 (up to 10 years old) Baby €5 (up to 3 years old)

Ilha da Culatra

On the island of culatra we will stop for lunch at a native fisherman's house. We will also take a guided tour to get to know these fishermen better, their traditions and origins, as well as other relevant aspects.

On this former fishermen's island converted into a tourist island, you'll have the opportunity to walk through its narrow streets, in the form of a labyrinth, with colorful houses and a vast beach where you can bathe.

This tour takes place in the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Park where you can observe the diversity of birds and flora, observe the cultivation of clams and oysters and learn more about this rich but fragile ecosystem.

Unique and incredible

It was an incredible and unique experience… the guide made the visit worth! The best part was the lunch, hosted in a typical house! They showed us what hospitality is!

Fantastic experience

We tried to book online before our holiday, but there was no availability. However, we were able to book the day before by going to the hut at the port in person. 70€ pp including the lunch, which was substantial, 2 different dips and bread/ toast cockles, then oysters followed by fish/sardine stew with potatoes. A polenta type dish with prawns and cockles, a pasta dish with fish and prawns, a tomato onion, lettuce salad, rice, and bacalau. Everything is placed on the table so you can serve yourselves. Accompanied with vino verde and water. Followed by fruit salad, a flan, and a local cake. We visited deserta, where we had 45mins, you can swim if you wish, I suggest footwear that you can either take off or paddle in as I was knee deep in the water getting out of the boat (I am short) we Also had an hour stop at farol to explore before arrival at culatera and the lunch stop. At regular point the guide Luis kept us well informed. It was a delightful experience and I would definitely recommend it.

A day out on the islands

Having been to Portugal many times this was the first excursion we have ever booked and it didn't disappoint! From start to finish everything went like a dream, informative, engaging and funny too! The islands were amazing, the lunch amazing and the two guides were brilliant, Luiz and Poulo great hosts and amazing value for money for a whole day out on the sea! Highly recommended and would definitely book again!

An experience of the true Algarve

We have found this trip to be a true experience of life here on the Eastern Algarve - we have taken this trip twice this year and on numerous occasions in the previous years too - we recommend it to all our family and friends when they come to stay with us - we feel it is a part of the Algarve that must be experienced and shared - the Ria Formosa is Mother Nature at her best - all the guides we have met are passionate about the area and love to share all they know - I love to share our knowledge about the oysters! The lunch in Rui’s family home - prepared by his mum has always been amazing - a very welcoming family proud of their heritage.

Excellent trip with a very knowledgeable guide who covered all aspects of island history ,nature and current life the meal was really 5star prepared ,cooked and served by a lovely friendly lady would absolutely recommend to anyone who wants to experience a typical Algarve wholesome meal
