Overview

The ideal tour to get to know a lot about the Ria Formosa, and visit the island of Culatra, a beautiful fishing community that inhabits about 1000 people all year round, which will be an island producing its own energy by 2030! Then we will enjoy, for many, the best deserted beach in the Algarve, which is located at the end of Culatra Island, which separates the dark blue of the Atlantic Ocean and the clear blue of the Ria Formosa, where you will have the opportunity to dive, swim and take unique photos! A true paradise! In case it is out of season , we will visit the magnificent Ilha da Armona , where we will stop around 1h00 to explore the island !

STOPS: 2 Islands During the interpretive tour, you will get to know a lot about the Ria Formosa and its Nature. The captain of the vessel will talk about the customs and traditions of the region, the fauna and flora of the region, as well as its history! Great communicators amid rainy weather

Went on a rainy day but appreciated how company was quick to communicate and delay trip to a less rainy day. It felt a bit long going from island to island. Would have felt better if we could get out to snorkel but it was cold. The tour was informative and friendly!

Stunning Ria Formosa with the excellent Odyssey Tours

Absolutely unmissable. This was the perfect way to see the Ria Formosa. Very professional and helpful. Guilherme is a very friendly and knowledgeable local captain/boat driver. Susanna was so helpful with bookings and info and even found my cardigan that I dropped on the jetty before sailing. Communication was perfect from booking, right through to the trip. We even got bumped on to this longer trip, due to the time of the season - we’d only booked for the sunset trip. Instead, we left earlier, visited two islands and had both sunshine and moonlight. Enough time on Culatra to walk to the beach and have a drink and take in the pretty houses. But Armona was the best part. So much time there while we waited for the stunning sunset, with a glass of wine on the beach. We were really lucky because we also had a supermoon straight after. The locals are welcoming, as are their dogs. Do not miss the Ria Formosa and I really recommend seeing it with Odyssey. So professional and good prices, too.

Sergio was an excellent guide and the two islands were charming. We couldn't do the bird watching tour because of the weather but Sergio made a point of talking about the wildlife and the oyster and clam fisheries. He made a quick detour and stop when he spotted a spoonbill. Good value for money. Recommended.
