    Ilha Deserta is also known as Barreta Island. In this stop you can choose to explore the fauna and flora of the island along an easy walk or simply enjoy the sunshine and bath in the clear waters of the beach.

Ria Formosa islands, and a beautiful trip on the water

Highly recommended. Our captain was passionate and knowledgable about the this natural gem, the Ria Formosa (and its islands) The Farol island has a signature lighthouse and a storybook maze like array of small cottages, the desert island is deserted, which is all one would hope for, apart from a timber clad restaurant that has a terrace for a wonderful view (and a sundowner). The sunset over the sea is one to remember.

Best thing you can do in Faro (by far)

Despite heavy showers, this experience was fantastic, helped by Captain Andre. Fascinated by the history, geography and wildlife. It was so good that we immediately booked the two hour birdwatching tour for the following day. And that was even better, thanks to Pedro. Amazing knowledge, impressive linguistic ability and general demeanor. In a city where, let’s face it, entertainment is a little lacking, these tours absolutely made it for us. Good value as well, these tours are an absolute gem.
