It’s an early start and darned cold at the top, but very worthwhile ❣️ Trevor is an excellent guide and driver. Many years of island experience to share.

The sunrise tour is definitely worthwhile and we’re very glad we went. They said it would be very cold up on the mountain and they weren’t kidding, the thick jackets are needed, these temperatures weren’t what we expected in Hawaii. The sunrise was spectacular and the accompanying chant from the guides was quite moving. Our guide Trevor provided lots of insight into the area and its history and is clearly extremely passionate about the subject. he was very friendly, helpful and accommodating and did a great job. The breakfast was okay but the sunrise experience is ultimately the reason for picking this tour and the reason we would recommend it.

This was incredible. On the advice of others we scheduled this for our very first morning in Hawaii, to make the early morning pickup a little easier since we were already jet lagged. But even though we were very tired, it was the perfect way to start our vacation. In addition to the sunrise, the tour includes a very comprehensive overview of Maui from a very knowledgeable guide (Trevor was awesome!) and once the sun is up you have an amazing Birds Eye view of the entire eastern half of Maui and over toward the Big Island. It is very cold up there. They provide parkas but if you have room in your bag for a hat, gloves and even an under layer, you should wear them. We were standing outside for nearly an hour and wished we’d brought some extra layers. But later at breakfast back down the mountain we were hot, so, it is a little tough to dress for. But that was the only downside. We will never forget the experience!

Cold at the top, but worth it!

When they tell you it is cold at the top--it is very cold at the top. Take an extra jacket, mittens and a hat.
