Overview

Every December at the famous temple Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto is announced the “Kanji of the Year” and performed it as a big writing called “Taisho”, a large calligraphy artwork which is written with a large brush. First, you will attend a live performance by a professional calligrapher Master of Shodō Kōji Takano. Then, Takano sensei will guide you to how to use the writing brush, how to move your body. How to deliver your idea and the message you want to write. Lastly, show what you have learned. Express yourself in one powerful single stroke. It is good to become an artist by facing "calligraphy" by yourself and is a very special experience that you can only experience here! Let's join us and put your creativity to it!
