Aoike is located on the left bank of the Biei River in Hokkaido. It was formed by a dam to prevent the flow of volcanic magma. In the sunlight, the water in the pool will reflect blue, hence its name. The view of Biei Green Pond is like stepping into a fairyland, shrouded in clouds and mist, with its hazy beauty. It is referred to as Japan's "Little Dragon".
Every morning, the water turns a beautiful shade of blue, pure and bright. Aoike was once photographed by National Geographic photographer Kent Shiraishi. The work was later acquired by Apple and became one of the default desktops of the Mac series. The water of Qingchi has rich minerals and sandy components from volcanic ash. Under the sunlight, Qingchi will display various hues with subtle variations in the environment. You never know what he might show you at the next moment, which creates high expectations.
