Overview

The Fátima phenomenon is bigger than the town and the country and we start the journey by visiting the three shepherds' houses at the town of Aljustrel, four kilometers away from the Sanctuary. Those were the family residences of Lúcias dos Santos and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco, the three shepherds that witnessed the apparitions of the virgin in 1917. Heading next to the Sanctuary where there is a lot to visit, mainly the Little chapel of the apparitions, built at the exact place where the apparitions took place, and two Basilicas: Our Lady of the Rosary, that as the shepherds thumbs inside, and the Holy Trinity Basilica, one of the biggest catholic temples in the whole world. At the sanctuary you will have free time to explore the religious site, including witness the mass and visit the different religious buildings that are part of the sanctuary. A unique journey through faith and history of one of the most famous places in Portugal. An incredible pilgrimage.

Valinhos Sanctuary

In addition to these sites at opposite points of the Sanctuary, you will have time to observe other places, such as the home of the Three Shepherds (Francisco and Jacinta Marto’s house and Lucia’s house), in the town of Aljustrel. In this space, we can find a faithful reconstruction of scenes from other times using old objects such as family photographs, clothes, kitchen utensils, furniture, among others. A unique tour through the faith and history of one of the most famous places in Portugal…

Maximum of 8 persons per vehicle.
It's a good idea to wear tennis shoes or other appropriate footwear for the tour and bring along a bottle of water. In summer bring your sunscreen and in winter it gets very cold so make sure you bring a jacket.
A minimum of 2 people and maximum of 8 people per booking is required: there is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative or full refund.
A moderate amount of walking is involved.
In case of adverse weather conditions (e. g. heavy rain), the tour will not be canceled, unless there are warnings and alerts by official organisms.
We are not responsible for any traffic congestion in the city, resulting from cultural, sport and religious events, or even demonstrations / strikes, etc. However we will always offer alternatives to avoid these situations; one of them is to change the pick-up and drop-off locations. Unfortunately, this may be transmitted without prior notice.

Great Tour, Great Guide

I highly recommend this tour! My wife and I did this tour as part of a longer stay in Lisbon. Our tour guide, Rui, was fantastic. He greeted us on time at the pickup point and shared a lot about the history of Portugal and Lisbon on the drive to Fatima. Once in Fatima, Rui took us to the two most important sites as well as a family owned souvenir shop. After some free time to explore the church and its grounds, Rui took us back to Lisbon. On the way home, he went above and beyond in suggesting a local lunch spot that was great. He even connected us with another tour the following day (a sunset river cruise in Lisbon). If you’re interested in seeing Fatima, I definitely recommend this tour, especially if Rui is your guide!

Such a beautiful and fun half day trip! Marina was a lovely guide and so helpful and sweet!!! The van was comfy and clean. It was nice to have Marina on WhatsApp to help with any questions when we broke off for solo time.
