Youā€™ll hear the fascinating history of the area, from its original use as a ceremonial space for indigenous peoples to a popular destination during the Western gold rushes. To appreciate the parkā€™s more recent music history, weā€™ll head to the Red Rocks Hall of Fame, where youā€™ll enjoy its displays of memorabilia from legendary performers. Youā€™ll get to see the stage where musicians of all genres have played, from The Beatles and Sting to Beck and Billie Eilish. Itinerary

  • Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre

The highlight of your Denver walking tour, this modern-day music venue is set among the monolithic ancient rocks uptilted millions of years ago and today features music acts of every genre. The park and amphitheatre is a must-see destination and a true Colorado experience. Youā€™ll meet your tour guide here to explore the amphitheatre and surrounding park.

    2 hours

  • Trading Post Trail (Pass By)

Our Red Rocks tour may pass by or cover a short segment of this trail that passes by the parkā€™s iconic tilted rock formations. At times, you might spot some Colorado wildlife or native wildflowers growing next to the trail. This relatively easy trail is a great way to explore the park and get great views of Red Rocks amphitheatre.

  • Morrison (Pass By)

Although Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is owned and maintained by the city of Denver, it lies within Jefferson County, which in turn includes the municipality of Morrison. You may pass through the small town of Morrison on your way to Red Rocks to meet your guide at the venue. If youā€™re looking for things to do in Colorado following your tour, your guide will have plenty of recommendations for where to discover Morrisonā€™s dinosaur history and restaurants and bars to enjoy after the walking tour!

  • N/A (Pass By)

Named for one of the rock formations flanking the Red Rocks amphitheatre stage, this restaurant might be your post-tour stop for lunch or dinner with an incredible view. Your tour guide will have plenty of recommendations for where to dine in the area or, if youā€™re heading back to town, places to eat in Denver.

  • Lariat Loop National Scenic Byway (Pass By)

You may have driven on part of this byway and taken in some of the majestic views of the Rocky Mountains along the way. If youā€™re looking for more amazing Colorado experiences after your tour, your local guide will have plenty of recommendations!

  • Statue to John Denver (Pass By)

Our tour may stop at this iconic statue that greets many concert goers at the Trading Post. Youā€™ll hear about John Denverā€™s legacy and that of many other legendary musicians who have toured at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre!

  • Matthews/Winters Park (Pass By)

This park overlooking Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre offers trails of various levels of difficulty and some of the most jaw-dropping views of Coloradoā€™s foothills and hogbacks. For trail and outdoor recreating advice, ask your tour guide for their personal recommendations!

  • Dinosaur Ridge (Pass By)

Bookend your Red Rocks tour with us with a visit to this ridge containing dinosaur fossils and tracks from the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. Walk up the ridge to learn about Coloradoā€™s ancient natural history and see where the first identified Stegosaurus fossils in the world were discovered!

Views and history were amazing!! The amphitheatre is so neat. Our tour guide, Lisa, was SUPER knowledgeable and really easy to talk to. We traveled from Florida so the altitude and cold were a little of a challenge for us but Lisa was so patient and understanding. I highly recommend this tour, it was so fun!
