I booked Howzit after discovering them on YouTube and connected with Nanako when my son and I arrived in Tokyo. The experience was incredible—Nanako guided us to some amazing spots and helped us navigate the train system effortlessly. It was like having a friend take you in and show you the ropes. I highly recommend!

We had a charming neighborhood tour of Asakusa and a couple other neighborhoods. Our stops included Senso-ji of course but also a shop selling ancient katana’s and samurai armor, a cute little tofu makers shop, ending with us watching a very energetic ceremony with lots of very loud drumming a temple in Fukagawa.

While planning my trip to Japan I watched videos of howzit and I really loved how fun they are so I decided to take 8 hours private tour The booking was very easy to complete and howzit created special itinerary based on my preferences. Few days before the planned trip I received a message from my guide Yu-san to confirm the time and location for meeting. Yu-san is very friendly and her English is perfect so communication was very easy. She explained about Japan culture and answered so many questions I had about Japan. Even though we traveled between few locations I did not feel like rushing through and even the rides on the local trains were fun and interesting. We also ended at a maid cafe which wasn’t part of the main itinerary but was really fun! Thank you howzit and especially to Yu-san for making an amazing day in Tokyo

We reached out to Howzit with interested in visiting a Robata as well as experiencing Pachinko. After contacting Howzit we were matched up with guide Nanako. She did a great job ahead of our trip asking questions to better customize our tour and experience. Howzit advertises that their tours are like seeing the city with a friend. It is absolutely truly! Nanako was very personable and legitimately felt like a friend right from the start. She was able to share incites to Japanese culture and customs. During our pre-trip communications she learned about my passion for rum, and was able to introduce us to brown sugar shochu as well as share her personal family connections to the region in the south of Japan where it is produced. Among my wife and I's many travels across the world, we have continually found it is the people that make experiences great. I have no doubt the crew at Howzit Japan would provide anyone with an amazing personalized experience as they did for us. My wife's parents will be visiting Japan this next year and we will be booking a tour with Howzit for them. Additionally on our next visit we will look forward to hiring Nanako again!

We booked an all day Tokyo city tour with Howzit Japan guides, and we were not disappointed! I chose them after seeing some of their videos on YouTube, which looked super fun. We live in Hawaii, where "howzit" is the common term for "what's up/how are you" so that appealed to us! My husband and I are active senior citizens, but have never been to Japan before. I felt we needed a guide to help us navigate the city easily and get to a lot of the must-see sights. Communication was easy leading up to the trip through email and then WhatsApp. We paid ahead with PayPal. Our guide was a wonderful young woman named Hanon, who communicated with us prior to coming as to what sights we'd like to see and made some suggestions for an itinerary, which was perfect. She met us at the hotel, and made sure we had everything we needed to get on the trains and get around town. She spoke excellent English, was very kind, patient and a lot of fun to hang out with! She also explained the history and significance of various sights, and was happy to recommend other things to do and offer help etc, outside of the tour. I also work in tourism in Hawaii, so I can appreciate the excellent attention to detail and helpfulness! Highly recommend this tour company. Arigatou gozaimasu Hanon san and Howzit Japan!
