Overview

Embark on an unforgettable adventure from San Cristóbal de las Casas. Our tour will take you through the stunning landscapes of the Sumidero Canyon. We’ll start by visiting two strategically located viewpoints at the top of the canyon, where you’ll have minutes at each to capture the natural beauty of the surroundings. Then, we’ll delve into the heart of the canyon on an exciting boat journey. After the boat journey, we’ll visit the charming magic town of Chiapa de Corzo. Here you’ll have the opportunity to explore its history and culture-rich streets on foot. At the end of the day, we’ll return to San Cristóbal de las Casas, leaving you with unforgettable memories of your trip. Please note that the viewpoints are closed on Tuesdays, so visits cannot be made on that day of the week.

    La visita incluye un recorrido por dos miradores situados en la parte alta del cañón. Se dispondrá de 15 minutos para disfrutar de cada mirador. Por favor, tenga en cuenta que los miradores están cerrados los días martes. Por lo tanto, no se pueden realizar visitas en ese día de la semana.

    Next on the itinerary is a visit to the colonial city of Chiapa de Corzo. Take some time to browse the numerous shops that offer local craft items. Continue to San Cristobal de las Casas, where the tour ends.

  • Parque Nacional Canon del Sumidero

    Marvel at the majestic walls of the Sumidero Canyon on this 6-hour excursion that feels like a journey back in time. Tours depart from the Algrano Cafe in San Cristobal de las Casas. After a transfer to the jetty, take a boat to the canyon, and then enjoy a walk and the opportunity to admire its plant and animal life. Be on the lookout for crocodiles, monkeys and a wide variety of birds. Next on the itinerary is a visit to the colonial city of Chiapa de Corzo. Take some time to browse the numerous shops that offer local craft items. Continue to San Cristobal de las Casas, where the tour ends.

The canyon was spectacular and the guide spoke with authority in Spanish with occasional usage of his limited English.

Great experience. What a stunning place to visit. The driver took care of everyone, I appreciated the time at each of the views and our boat journey down the river along the canyon was fantastic. And a lovely mix of people in our group.

The driver was careful and always on time. The trip was well organized, and the driver seemed highly experienced. The nature and the views are totally breathtaking, making the journey truly unforgettable. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking for a safe and enjoyable travel experience to Cañón del Sumidero.

Great value for the money, beautiful experience

TAKE YOUR TRAVEL MEDS if you’re like me and get sick in the car. This tour was a great value for the money. I personally didn’t care about the last stop in Chiapa de Corzo and would rather arrive to San Cris sooner but I enjoyed everything else. The canyon is a must see if you’re in San Cris or around, we also saw some crocodiles and monkeys and a lot of birds. Unfortunately it’s impossible to book an English guide if you’re a solo traveller like me but there was a couple who booked an English guide so I could ask him some things and I also speak a bit of Spanish (the guide on the boat is another guide who only speaks Spanish so if you can’t book an English guide who will translate you won’t understand. But it’s still a great experience.)
