Overview

The visit will start from Porta Marina, the sea gate. After an introduction of the dynamics of the eruption and the historical background of the the ancient city, we shall visit the following highlights of the site: The Forum, that's to say the main square, the centre of political, economical, religious and social life. Alex was amazing. Perfectly pitched tour to our group of 2 adults and teenagers. Couldn’t recommend more highly! The adults had been to Pompeii before on a much larger cruise group tour (not a great memory). Alex’s tour took us to exactly the right places and really brought Pompeii’s history to life. Alex’s historical knowledge was brilliant - fantastic responses to our daughter who has studied Pompeii within her Latin course. For the adults, it was like visiting for the first time. For the teens it was the highlight of our trip (we did a lot of tours around Rome etc.. ) Thanks so much Alex!

Incredible experience

We toured Pompeii with Alex yesterday. He was engaging and informative and took the time to understand what we were interested in seeing. He clearly knows Pompeii very deeply and has a great love and inquisitive nature for the site. The children really enjoyed it and I would wholly recommend him as a tour guide. At the end of the tour my daughter said she wished he could have stayed with us the full day.

Do not hire anybody else go with alex!

My family had a great week in Italy. It included the Coliseum, the Forum, the Vatican, the Amalfi coast, a private boat tour around Capris and a vineyard. When asked what was their favorite experience overall, teenagers and adults all say the same thing “Pompeii because of Alex!”

Alex is amazing! What we saw and learned in just two hours was perfect. We saw other people walking having no idea what they were looking at, whereby Alex educated us and showed us things beyond my expectation. He also knew how to avoid the crowds so we really could appreciate Pompeii. Throughout the tour he took us through what life was like prior to the eruption and really brought it to life. We felt the life of people in the streets, houses and shops. Alex was informative, fun and extremely knowledgable. Best decision booking this. Thank you Alex!
