Overview

Experience a 2-hour tour of the ancient ruins of Pompeii led by a professional archaeologist guide and skip the line tickets included in a small group of maximum 20 people. Walk through the ruins and explore this ancient city, buried by Vesuvius in 79 AD. Learn about the history of the town and how the Romans lived and see all the most important public buildings and private houses. Visit the Western part of the town. You will see the Marina Gate, the Basilica, the Forum, the baths, the Lupanar (brothel), the bakery, the house of Faun, the Termopolium, the main street, the Plaster Casts of the dead's, and the Theaters. The tour is available in English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German and starts at the main entrance of Pompeii Ruins, called Porta Marina Superiore.

The meeting point is the main entrance of Pompeii ruins called "Porta Marina Superiore" opposite to a restaurant called 'Hortus'. Please put this one, for easier navigation. Meet our staff at the entrance gates holding ‘ASKOS TOURS’ sign to be recognized.

Pompeii is much larger and older than you would expect. The history and the civilization and culture are fascinating. The 2 hour small group archeologist tour provides plenty of detailed information and visits many significant spots. Our archeologist tour guide Alicia was excellent! You’ll have time afterward to tour on your own to see other notable spots like the music and poetry amphitheater, the theater, and the large amphitheater which is the oldest known amphitheater in the world.

The tour was fantastic! Anna was very knowledgeable and her commentary was interesting and enjoyable. It was so nice to be able to walk around and listen and not have to worry about getting lost or trying to figure things out on our own. Keep in mind you will be doing a lot walking. I think we walked 2-3 miles. This was a bit tiring for some of the older members of our group so something to consider when planning your trip. Would highly recommend this tour

Well informed, entertaining and friendly guide giving lots of fascinating detail that you won’t get otherwise. Dress for the weather though: in January it was quite windy and cold and we were glad of our woolly hats!
