Immerse in Japan's onsen culture and snowy landscapes. 【Beginner/intermediate course】 Reserve the Numajiri Ski Resort and enjoy the view of Shiraito Falls, a rare hot spring waterfall in Japan, and the ridge of Mt. Adatara. Climb the snow-covered mountain from the special course inside the Numajiri Ski Resort, using snowshoes and crampons. 【Advanced Course】 Climb the normally inaccessible mountain trail to reach Numajiri Motoyu with views of Shiraito Falls, a rare hot spring waterfall in Japan, and the ridge of Mt. Adatara.Numajiri Motoyu is located in the middle of Mt. Adatara in the southeast area of Bandai-Asahi National Park, and boasts the largest single source spring in Japan. Set out on snowshoes and crampons to climb the snowy mountain from a special course at Numajiri Ski Resort amid the magical view of snow piles.

What To Expect

1. Numajiri Kogen In winter, the Numajiri Plateau transforms into an awe-inspiring snowy landscape within Bandai-Asahi National Park. The vast, snow-covered plains exude a serene, almost sacred atmosphere, transporting visitors to an extraordinary, untouched world. A highlight here is the extreme hot springs—outdoor baths that rise with ethereal steam against the cold, creating a surreal and magical scene. Adventurers can also strap on snowshoes and trek through the untouched snowfields, immersing themselves in the crisp, invigorating winter air. On clear days, the plateau offers breathtaking views of Mt. Bandai, with a stunning contrast between the bright blue skies and pristine white snow. 1 hour

2. Bandai-Asahi National Park In winter, Bandai-Asahi National Park is a captivating landscape blanketed in pure white snow. The frozen Goshiki-numa ponds and lake clusters create a mystical scenery, and snow-covered extreme hot springs warmly welcome visitors, offering a unique winter experience. 4 hours

3. Shiraito Falls This is a rare waterfall in Japan where hot spring water flows out and forms a cascade. During the eruption of Mt. Adatara, lava was pushed out, creating a cliff. The hot spring water that springs from the old sulfur mine mixes with the sulfur river, flowing down as a single waterfall. Its appearance, resembling strands of white or silk threads, is how it got its name.
