Overview

Start a day with Zazen meditation and listen to the sermon at the oldest Zen Temple, Kenninji Temple, or Shourinji Temple. Enjoy free time by walking around the Japanese garden and take memorable photos. Enjoy Kyoto cuisine lunch at Kyoto Sake Brewery Bettei. Lunch consists of 9 types of Kyoto Obanzai dishes and warm seasonal vegetables. All ingredients are carefully selected by the chef. Take time to enjoy a luxurious dining such as earthenware pot rice cooked right in front of you. Try one of the following: 15 of local sake, 4 of local beer, 4 non-alcoholic cocktails, or all-you-can-drink softdrink. By end of the tour includes making Matcha with your guide. And lastly, enjoy Matcha with 2 Japanese sweets.

JR Kyoto Station - Kyoto-Hachijoguchi Bus Loading Area (Chartered Sightseeing Bus). 2 minutes walk from Kyoto station Hachijoguchi exit. Located in front of the Kyoto Avanti shopping complex.

What To Expect

1. Kennin-ji Temple Experience Zazen meditation and listen to sermon at the oldest Zen Temple, Kenninji Temple or Shourinji Temple. Enjoy free time by walking around the Japanese garden and take memorable photos. 1 hour 30 minutes

2. Zazen meditation experience with sermon. 1 hour 30 minutes

3. Have fun-time making Matcha with your guide. Enjoy Matcha with 2 Japanese sweets. 45 minutes

4. Enjoy sake tasting experience and Kyoto cuisine lunch. For those who wish not to drink alcohol, you may choose all you can drink soft drink. 1 hour 30 minutes

We may cancel the tour if we do not meet the minimum of 15 participants by 14 days before the scheduled date.
If Kenninji temple is closed, we will take you to Shourinji temple.
Please refrain from bringing your own food and drinks into the restaurant.
Please arrive at the meeting location 15 minutes prior to the departure time.
Please note that bringing large luggage during the tour is not allowed.
This tour basically utilizes a bus, and there may be delays in arrival time due to traffic or other factors.
For those who have any food allergies, please leave a note.
Drinking alcohol and smoking on the bus is prohibited.
Please note that in principle, odd-numbered groups will share seats on the bus.
The order of the itinerary may partially change.
Refunds will not be provided if you fail to arrive at the meeting location on time (no show).
Wearing your seatbelt is mandatory while the bus is in motion due to legal regulations.
Please personally take responsibility for your valuables.

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.
Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
