Overview

This tour will take you across the historic centre of York and stop at a number of independent businesses, each one of which will provide you with generous examples of their fabulous food & drink. You'll get to enjoy Yorkshire Cheeses, Fish & Chips, Tacos, Chocolate and Pintxos with Sherry before choosing a sweet or savoury finale with a well earned Yorkshire ale! While walking between the venues you'll hear a bit about the history of York and pass by several of the cities major attractions such as York Minster, Cliffords Tower and the City Walls. Your guide is a York based food writer who knows the city and its hospitality scene intimately. He's been featured in the Lonely Planet guide, is a coordinating judge for the Guild of Fine Food and helps run York Food & Drink Festival....You can recognise him by the cutlery tattoos!

Fantastic walking, talking, food and drinks

York on a fork is a great tour of history, navigation and cuisine. It Easy to walk to course at any age. Ben was personable and locally knowledgable. Each food location was better than expected. The combination of food and drinks were excellent.

We booked a bespoke food tour with Ben as a team day trip... It seriously exceeded expectations on all levels. The variety of venues and food was excellent, and at each venue we were very well looked after. Ben clearly has a passion for good quality food and this reflected in the venues we visited. We will be using Ben again for some more tours with clients in the new year. I would not hesitate to recomend Ben's tours either for business or pleasure.

This was outstanding! An excellent guide with stacks of info and visiting 7 venues to enjoy local food and drink. The added bonus is that it is small groups and that you tend to sit with different people and get to know them! It costs about £70, but that represents excellent value. I would do it again, although first time will obviously be best, unless he varies the venues. If I could I would award 10 stars!

A great idea, superbly executed! You walk around in a small group (we had 8) and we visited 7 establishments to taste and drink various foods and drinks. It was approx. £70 each, but this represented excellent value for money. The guide was friendly informative and the added bonus is you tend to sit with different people and get to know them a little. I would do this again, although it is obviously best first time - that's how good it was. How do I give 10 stars?
