Dare you take a trip into the past and uncover some of York’s turbulent and tragic history? A past that manifests itself in the unexplained sightings of shadows haunting our streets and buildings. Let us take you on a journey through the streets and snickleways and tell you about the shadows of York. Note: The tour is rated PG and not recommended for under 8's. The stories change from time to time. But they do contain in depth historic details, some of which can be dark, sad or gory. These may include executions, plague, suicide or any other grim facts. A spookily good time…

We had a couple of nights in York and decided to book a ghost walk, which is always a good way to find out the history of a place, especially one with such a past as this city. We joined a group that met outside the Guy Fawkes pub near York Minster and our guide, Mackenzie, led us around some of the spookier parts of the city. She was very knowledgeable and the tour was very entertaining and informative, shedding a light on some of York’s gruesome history. The stories were told with good humour but gave a real flavour of the city’s past. Well worth the money, even on a bitterly cold night!

I was kept captivated throughout the tour with enthralling stories, colourful characters and insightful history facts. The delivery via this very professional tour guide was absolutely spot on. His pauses and humour just made this an experience to remember. I would highly recommend these people to do anything tour.
