Founded by the Romans in 71 AD, York was occupied by Anglo-Saxons, Vikings, and invaded by the Normans!
Its great Gothic Cathedral: the York Minster, the ruins of a Medieval Monastery, its Castle, its wall, and public gardens, Georgian and Victorian Architecture... something to discover and explore at every step during our walk.

York still preserves a large group of buildings, churches and market for more than 600 years, taking us on a journey to the Middle Ages.
Let's climb the defensive wall, and walk a portion of this magnificent structure, with the best views of the city.

Ruins of Medieval St Mary's Abbey, within the gardens of the Yorkshire Museum.

Medieval Street, next to the market. The best collection of medieval houses and 'snickelways' alleys more than 600 years old, inspiration for scenes from 'Harry Potter'

St. Helen's Square
Mansion house, or residence of the Mayor, and former gateway to the Roman Fort, today with very fine buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, with businesses, bars and restaurants.

York City Walls
We ascend the defensive wall of the city, a formidable Medieval structure of almost 4 km, very well preserved, exploring some of the access gates to the city of York.

Merchant Adventurers' Hall
We stop to admire this spectacular building completed in 1360 AD.
For centuries, this construction has been the center of commerce for the city's great merchants.
