So Many Whales

We chose the 9 am whale watching tour on a Wednesday. It was a lovely day with excellent whale watching. January/February is the perfect time to watch whales in this area. The protected ocean between Maui, Lanai, and two other islands is perfect for whale babies to be born and raised in relatively calm pacific waters. PacWhale promised lots of whales and they delivered. Large ones, babies and moms! The Naturalist was excellent in taking and answering questions. Worth every penny! No need to worry about sea sickness in this part of the Pacific. Tranquil seas

This was an amazing tour! As our tour guide said, "We were mugged by a humpback whale!" The whale became very curious and went back and forth under our boat repeatedly. We were able to see it up close and personal. Our 3-year-old granddaughter said her favorite part of the whale tour was seeing the bumps on the whale's face. It was amazing. Another amazing part of this tour was the passion everyone on the ship had for the whales. It was so obvious that they truly cared about the whales! A bonus was the water-proof microphone they let down in the water so we could hear the whale's song. Amazing tour, highly recommend!
