    Overview

    You will be taken on a full day wine immersion trip, by your own personal qualified, wine guide, to discover the wines of Ronda and the fascinating people behind these well-structured, full bodied wines. Your wine guide, Nicky has a great knowledge of both the wines in the area, the wine history of Ronda and personally knows the wine makers and vineyard owners behind these robust wines. You will get a unique insight into the winemaking process and traditions and get to enjoy a three-course meal in the company of the wine makers, overlooking the vineyards. This is an amazing day out. Nicky is enthusiastic and excited to share her wine knowledge with you, on one of her personalised, fun wine tasting trips. This is tour is for a minimum of 4 people

    We will pick you up at your accommodation on the Costa del Sol from Estepona to Malaga

    What To Expect


    1. Costa del Sol You will be picked up at your accommodation on the Costa del Sol, in a 4WD Volkswagen Caravelle, and then leisurely driven through the stunning Serrania de Ronda mountain range where your day begins.
    2. Ronda Your first stop is an old restored convent dating back to the 16th century. You will speak firsthand to the owners, who will explain their journey of restoring a ruin into a beautiful winery whilst keeping most of the original building intact. The barrel room is the old chapel room, with recovered frescoes on the walls, under the bay windows. After visiting the Winery and learning about their wine making process, you will then have a guided tasting of a selection of their range of wines accompanied by local tapas, whilst sitting on the terrace and taking in the stunning views of the Tajo. 2 hours
    3. Ciudad Romana de Acinipo You will then be driven to the foothills of the Acinipo ruins, to visit our second winery, a beautiful Spanish Cortijo (country house), where you will be met by the owners and wine makers. You will be taken on a very personalised wine tour of the winery and cellars, which have been hand carved out of the stone imbedded in the hillside. We shall then enjoy wine tasting and a 3 course meal with the wine makers, on their terrace (weather permitting) overlooking the vineyards and the beautiful Serrania de Ronda. If you're lucky this charming couple may even get out their guitar and serenade you with flamenco music as you watch the sunset. An unforgettable full day wine experience, where you will enjoy free flowing wine throughout the day. You will be driven back to your accommodation around 18:00 or when the sun has set. 4 hours

    VIP Wine Tasting / A Terrific Day

    Add this to the list of glowing reviews regarding the Rootz experience. Everything we had hoped for! A terrific day at two very different but very good local wineries. Nicky and our hosts at both wineries provided in-depth commentary about their respective winemaking processes and the wines presented for tasting, and we enjoyed wine and tapas at the first winery, and wine and lunch at the second. We are grateful to have added this to our Andalusia itinerary. Hint - be sure to ask Nicky about spending some time in Ronda, a lovely and picturesque small town. We toured Ronda in advance of the first of two winery visits.

    Would we do this again? Absolutely!

    Absolutely worth every penny! We are so delighted we done this tour, it was informative, the wine was amazing, Our tour guide Nicky was so friendly and gave us so much great information. The lunch was superb & the flavours were incredible. We would 100% do this tour again. Thank you for a fab day Nicky!!

    Nicky is knowledgeable and curated an amazing day for us in Ronda. She has wonderful relationships with first-class winemakers and the result is an incredible tasting tour. Two different vineyard owners spent multiple hours with us. In both cases, the owners prepared snacks (first stop) and an amazing lunch (second stop.). The views and scenery of the two wineries were incredible and we enjoyed the wines. We cannot wait to schedule another Tour with Nicky. Recommend her highly!

    Nicky was the perfect host - professional and knowledgeable as well as charming and with a great sense of humour! Everything was arranged to perfection. Ronda is a fabulous wine growing area with stunning scenery and the winemakers we were introduced to were really passionate about their wines and excited to share their stories with us. It was a very personalised tour and being hosted by the owners of the vineyards made it that little bit more special. We tasted a good range of wines, accompanied by local tapas and then a super lunch at the second vineyard, all of which were delicious. To finish the day, we had the good fortune of being serenaded by the owner with flamenco music played on his Spanish guitar as we watched the sun go down. All in all, an unforgettable experience, I can´t wait to go back again!
