Overview

The Do Eat Better Experience food tour is a walking tour around the historical center of Verona. The tourist is guided by a "Foodie", a local "buddy" able to explain every detail of the selected restaurants, their preparations, and the relevant history/curiosities. Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way of showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. This is the reason why we accept small groups only: we want to focus on a genuine exchange and give to each tourist the highest attention possible. Please, note that the tour is always run in English and Italian; other languages upon request.

Itinerary

  • Do Eat Better Experience - Verona Food Tour (Pass By)

    With our Verona Food Tour you will have a chance to taste some dishes from the gastronomic tradition.

    We start our food tour with a traditional aperitif tasting crostini, stuffed with local products, and a glass of local wine in the framework of one of the oldest Veronese taverns.

  • Porta Borsari - World Heritage Site (Pass By)

    You cannot claim to have been in Verona without having tried the typical Veronese pasta. You can eat them in a modern gastronomy that has become a point of reference for the Veronese.

  • Basilica di Santa Anastasia (Pass By)

    We continue in an old osteria where we are going to taste two other main dishes of the Veronese cuisine: the "Pastissada", a special recipe with which you can enjoy horse meat or Polenta with soppressa (Italian cold meats)

  • Piazza delle Erbe (Pass By)

    Finally, Risino, a dessert from Veronese tradition, or ice cream and the unmissable espresso coffee.

Gastronomical Tour - Verona

We had the tour with Giuli. First of all, the tour included everything that was described. We ate and enjoy the gastronomy of Verona and Italy in different ways and we also got interesting information about the food and the city. In addition, Giuli gave us a very good conversation besides the touristic things and she also gave us very good recommendations adapted to our necessities and destinations not only in Verona but also the surrounding places and Milano. In general, we enjoyed the tour so much :)

Extra props to this tour and our tour guide, our train ran very behind schedule, so we were an hour late. However the tour guide gave us directions so we could jump right in the middle of the tour. The food was great and Emanuela was a fantastic guide. She was very knowledgeable and took us places we wouldn’t have thought or even tried to go. Very much worth it if you want to experience the food in Verona with the Italian culture. And again, major praise for Emanuela. Even after the tour we had walked the same direction away, and she stayed an extra 20 minutes and showed us where we could get Italian coffee to take home. 10/10!

Delicious food and an interesting and informative few hours with Giuli. Would recommend as a great start to a holiday. Giuli took us to places that we later revisited and would not have otherwise found. Thanks.

I can't imagine a better guide than Giulia to host me and my Mom on a private culinary tour of Verona! Giulia was kind, witty and knowledgeable about the food, wine and culture. She showed us spots we wouldn't have otherwise discovered and gave us recommendations for things to do after the tour. It felt like we were spending the day with a friend or family member. Highly recommend!
