  • Casa di Marco Polo

    In all its long and illustrious history, the city of Venice has probably never produced a more famous or important son than Marco Polo. Born in 1254, he embarked on his famous epic journey at the age of just 17, and would not return to his home city for another 24 years. During this time, he travelled an astonishing 15,000 miles, meeting the famous Kublai Khan and producing the first detailed chronicle of a European voyage to China. His writings were tremendously influential in the fields of cartography and exploration, helping to produce the famous Fra Mauro Map and inspiring Christopher Columbus to set out on his voyage to the Americas. Marco Polo is often named as the greatest explorer of all time.

Great experience

Annalisa was super knowledgeable, upbeat and a pleasure to be on a tour with. The stories were interesting and it was great to have a quieter experience of the back streets of Venice. Our teenage boys didn’t find it spooky but the history element of fascinating. Grazie millie

Annalisa was an AWESOME tour guide and is a great story teller. She went in depth for each story, showed the sites of each, and gave our small group ample time to ask questions even if they weren’t connected to the tour. She has great energy and is the right person to give this tour. It was cold so dress appropriately!

I rated it 5 stars because she was super nice, there was one ear peace instead of two and two ear peace’s sometimes annoy me, she was so entertaining, and she even gave us one of the best pizza places and gelato places I really think every body should go on a ghost and murder tour. Usually I don’t like tours at all but this one I loved so so so so so much. P.S.Our tour guide was ANNALISA From: A ten-10 year old
