At the same time, it operated as a prison, where some of Venice's criminals saw their last days. Explore the fascinating artwork of the Doge's Palace, and get a glimpse of the famous Bridge of Sighs, the bridge that connects Doge's Palace to its prison. Even though your tour will conclude after visiting the Doges Palace, your guide will be happy to advise on how to get back to your accommodation, or perhaps advice where to enjoy some local food & a spritz!

The gondola ride was amazing. Roberta our guide was so knowledgeable and just lovely. It was great to have a break between the basilica and the palace. Also we got great tips on restaurants and shops!

Otavia was an excellent guide. We were traveling with 2 couples and all 6 of us had a great time. I especially liked the way she guided us through Venice from St. Marks Square to the Grand Canal, weaving around the maze of alleys to get there. I felt very comfortable in her hands.

Great Venice Day Tour with Gondola Ride

We watched several of this companies Youtube videos before booking a guided tour during our recent trip to Venice. The videos were great and gave us a good idea of what we should not miss. We did schedule a half day guided tour, which included a gondola ride. We met our guide, Ellena, and were off for the day. She began with an overview and history of Venice. Ellena then took us on a guided tour of St. Mark’s Basilica. As native Venetian, she knew so much about the historical background and was able to explain many of the paintings we saw on the outside and inside of the building. After that, we went on a “City walk” and she explained day to day life in Venice both in past and current times. After this she arranged for our gondola tour and we had a brief stop for lunch. After lunch, we toured Doge’s Palace. Again, without her historical background and explanations, we would have missed out on so much. She was a fantastic guide and we would use this company again.
