Overview

Explore three famous islands in the Venice Lagoon--Murano, Torcello and Burano--on a half-day sightseeing excursion by motorboat. You'll stop at a blown glass factory on Murano, visit Venice's first cathedral on the peaceful island of Torcello, and shop for handcrafted lace on Burano. This morning or afternoon tour is an excellent introduction to the magical islands surrounding the medieval city of Venice and its enclosed bay in the Adriatic Sea. Deaprtures every day from San Marco Giardinetti or Venezia Santa Lucia Railway Station (departure time is set 30 minutes before the indicated departure time)

  • Laguna di Venezia (Pass By)

    Navigate through the Venetian Lagoon to reach the islands and enjoy the view!

  • Isola di Murano

    The island of Murano is the first stop of this excursion: you will have a chance to enter a glass factory and see the masters working the glass as they have been doing for centuries and then visit the center of the island.

  • Isola di Burano - World Heritage Site

    Second stop of this half day excursion is Burano, famous for the colorful fishermen's houses and for the traditional handmade laces.

  • Isola Torcello

    Torcello is the third and last stop of this tour. The island is the first to be inhabited in the Venetian lagoon and still shows the traces of its origins.

  • Chiesa di Santa Fosca (Pass By)

    The church of Santa Fosca stands in the main square of Torcello and is a fine example of venetian-byzantine style.

  • Trono di Attila

    In the middle of Torcello stands the ancient Attila's throne.

    Cross the Devil's Bridge which still preserves the shape of the ancient Venetian bridges

  • Piazza San Marco (Pass By)

    The boat leaves from St'Mark's Square, which you will have the chance to admire from a different perspective.

Half day 3 islands visit Murano, Burano, Torcello

We booked this sight-seeing tour in the tours and excursions shop just opposite Venezia S. Lucia train station for 25€ per person. This was around 4 and a half hours long. We were picked up outside of KFC and set off visiting the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. If you like exploring, then this is the tour for you. You hop off at each of the 3 islands and are given around 50 minutes to an hour to explore. You can use this time to wonder around or grab some food and drink. All 3 islands were unique and worth a visit. You visit a glass making factory where they give you a demonstration which was cool. One of the islands is famous for the colourful houses. Torcello has a local restaurant not far from the water taxi stop where they serve lovely fresh Italian pizzas. Worth a go!

Great trip. 3 small island visits. Was really good as not too long. Murano to see the glass blower, burano a very pretty little place with multi coloured homes and the last stop, quaint church views. Was good value we thought. Our day was wet but wasn't a problem as boat was warm.

Perfect half day trip to the islands…well worth the price!

This tour is a fantastic way to see 3 of the islands in the Venice lagoon in half a day. In Murano you get to visit a glass blowing factory and see a demonstration. In Torcella there is the Cathedral and a lovely nature walk by the canal. And in Burano you see the most amazing colored houses. The staff was lovely and informative. We found it to be very much worth the price and enjoyed every minute.
