2. Louvre Museum
The Musée du Louvre is one of the world's most famous museums, but before it was a museum it was the king's residence. See this impressive monument from the outside and see how it transformed from the king's tiny Renaissance palace to the giant complex it is today, and hear about the kings and emperors who built it, lived here, and collected the artwork that now makes the Louvre famous.
Admission to the inside of the Louvre is not typically included in this Full-Day walking tour.

3. Jardin des Tuileries
Beautiful and grandiose gardens beside the Louvre, designed by the famous garden landscape artist André Le Nôtre, famous for having designed the gardens of Versailles. With exterior views of the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay, and a beautiful view of the building fronts along the Right Bank and Left Bank of the Seine.

4. Seine River
A walk along the Seine, the world's most iconic river lined on both sides by beautiful architecture. Discover the difference between the "Rive gauche" and the "Rive droite" (left bank and right bank), and the two very different personalities Paris has to offer, from chic and elegant to quaint and trendy. See the beautiful facades lining the river and visit the famous "bouquinistes", or book stalls, selling rare manuscripts and vintage prints, that have been there for more than 50 years and have become a Parisian institution, just like the architecture.

5. Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris
The world's most famous and iconic gothic cathedral, immortalized by Victor Hugo in his novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame. The cathedral is now closed for renovations but is just as beautiful as ever from the outside. We will visit the cathedral from the outside, and discover the ile-de-la-cité, the island Notre-Dame is on. We will also hop over to the neighboring island, Ile-Saint-Louis, to see the beautiful architecture and taste some of the world's best ice cream at Berthillon.

6. Quartier Latin
The neighborhood was immediately across the river from Notre Dame Cathedral, so-called because it was the location of Paris' first universities, where students and professors alike spoke Latin. Dive back 1000 years in time to the only pocket of gorgeous medieval architecture left in the city, and visit the famous Shakespeare & Company Bookstore.

7. Saint Germain des Pres Quarter
A beautifully quaint and quintessentially Parisian area of town, full of cafés, Medieval churches, and cobblestone streets. Saint-Germain-des-prés is the perfect place to people-watch over a cup of coffee, just like a true Parisian, and taste the city's best artisanal chocolate, pastries, and croissants.

8. Le Marais
The chic and trendy neighborhood on the Right Bank in Paris is full of charming shops and beautiful Parisian mansions. Including the Place des Vosges, the Picasso Museum, and a stop for the best macaroons in Paris.

9. Basilique du Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre
Iconic artists' neighborhoods in Paris, where the likes of Renoir, Monet, Van Gogh, and Picasso used to live. Stroll the streets and step back in time, to when Paris was still full of small windy streets and quaint, charming storefronts. See Picasso's art studio, the residences of Van Gogh and Renoir, and the famous haunts of Monet, Manet, and the whole Impressionist gang, not to mention the gorgeous Sacré Coeur basilica and its breathtaking views over the entire city.

The Eiffel Tower was built by Gustave Eiffel in 1889 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution and was the world's tallest building until 1931. Although it was originally hated by most Parisians when it was first unveiled, it has come to be one of the world's most beloved and iconic monuments, a true symbol of the City of Lights.
