Food is not provided and you can bring your own lunch or buy lunch to go in a supermarket where we have a restroom stop. There is also a cafeteria in the visitor center in the park.

Overview

This tour is unique in that you will be on guided hikes (snowshoes/crampons provided from November to June) in the park. The longest hike is about a mile starting from the visitor center going next to glaciers on Mt. Rainier. Throughout the day you will have panoramic views of the mountains and you will experience diverse landscapes and scenery such as waterfalls, lakes, and tall trees in old growth forest when we stop at highlights in Mount Rainier National Park.

Meeting points

We will meet outside Sephora next to the big arch on 415 Pine St. I will be wearing a pink flower fleece pullover, so it should be easy to spot me.

Susan is a very experienced guide. We had a good time. Making sure you have hiking boot and waterproof jacket if expected rain or snow.

Pick up and drop off are on time and Susan was our guide and she was amazing. She is very empathetic and makes sure you are comfortable and is happy to answer any questions. She made a pit stop so that we can pick up lunch and catered to bathroom breaks too. Perfect planning on her behalf. The hike itself might be medium to slightly difficult level for a rookie hiker but it is worth it. It is advisable to layer up and insulate as much as one can, but one will warm up as we are hiking upwards. Brisk walking is necessary to make it in time, but Susan was cognizant of different speeds and waited till everyone caught up. When we reached the main view point, you will have the best view of Mt. Rainier. We even had our picnic lunch stop there and got some great pics. One of the most memorable experiences there! The next part of the hike up is on ice and Susan even brought crampons for all of us! She even has an extra pair of gloves and makes sure her group is always sorted and comfortable. Honestly, the best guide I've ever had! The walk up the icy floor with crampons is an intriguing experience and the views keep getting better (especially in the snow). Finally the walk down is done on crampons and DO NOT remove the crampons on the way down. Overall an amazing 10/10 hike with an amazing tour guide, Susan! Highly recommend!

Susan is very sweet and knowledgeable. Views are incredible. Van can feel crowded especially when it’s a full group, but don’t let that stop you. The views, experience, and memories are definitely worth it.

The trip was amazing with so many beautiful views of Mt. Rainer and waterfalls! Susan was a great guide, very knowledgeable, explaining what we were seeing around and always making sure we get the best views possible. She was also very helpful and organized, providing us with everything we needed, from crampons and hiking poles to gloves, snacks, water and a full lunch! Highly recommended!!
