Overview

Taste the freshest oysters and mussels in a private tour to Ston, tailored for true seafood lovers. A small boat will take you to oysters and mussels farm to see how they are being cleaned and farmed. Walk the medieval town of Ston to admire its magnificent defensive walls and visit a salt factory. On our way to Ston, we will make a stop at Trsteno to visit the oldest botanical garden in the world, established by a local noble family in the 15th century. On the way back, you will enjoy a ride with scenic sights and a stop at the spectacular viewpoint overlooking the Elaphiti Islands, to take some beautiful panorama photos or the possibility of swimming on the beach if desired.

What a great experience! Ivo picked us (a group of eight) up at the hotel and drove us to the harbour where we left for the Oyster farm on a boat. Dennis explained how they farm the Oysters and Mussels, which was quite interesting but the best part was yet to come. I have never eaten such fresh, meaty and yummy Oysters. While we were busy eating the Oysters Dennis prepared the Mussels with a sauce of white wine, olive oil, onions and garlic. Delicious! You can taste the love and the passion they put into their work. We returned to the mainland and Ivo drove us to the small city of Ston. We had a short walk through the village. Ivo informed us about the history of Ston, the wall and the salt production. Then we left for a winery run by a family that are just as well very proud of their products. And you can taste the quality. We returned to the hotel filled with great memories of a lovely day! Thank you Ivo. Hvala puno.

Miraculously designed experience

We spent two days with Igor and Ivo to Mostar and Ston on separate days having a lovely time. They clearly knew the spectacles to see and their friendliness and passion for the area always shines through. Our family deeply enjoyed the time with these two and have many memories to cherish forever. Visiting some beautiful towns and the wonderful vineyard of Ćurlin. We even had a delicious lunch on the seaside with their parents. In a way we felt welcomed to their family as locals ourselves. Would recommend these two to anyone coming to the Dubrovnik/Croatia.

A superb experience on every level

A truly memorable day spent on this tour. Firstly, a special mention to our guide Zoran, who was great company and shared his knowledge with us as we went through the day. Mirela was very helpful with tips and advice from the moment we booked. The Trsteno Arboretum was very peaceful with some interesting historical artefacts. The highlight was the Ston oyster visit. The food and service were first class. The setting idyllic. The mussels the sweetest we have tasted and the myrtle infused grappa the perfect accompaniment! All in all, a wonderful day out in this beautiful country. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Amazing Ston Oyster Tasting Tour with winery visits in Dubrovnik

We joined excellent whole day tour from Dubrovnik to Ston and surroundings in late August; everything exceeded our high expectations. Main reason was our super guide Ivo and the fact that there was no other people joining the tour (ordered the tour this way) and we could pretty much decide everything during the day. The main attraction was expectedly the visit to oyster farm & eating fresher than ever oysters and mussels. But besides that it was very important for us that Ivo took us to very our kind of wineries, showed the city of Ston + stopped by to very interesting places on the way to Ston and told highly interesting stories all the way there. We were so to say on the same level with him. All and all it was life time memorable day and hopefully we will have the chance to visit new places with him in the future as well. He knows a lot about whole country and even neighboring countries. As extra service we got great recommendation from him for dinner before he took as to the airport and back to Finland. Really much appreaciated!
