During its heyday in the first century BC, it was the second-largest city in the world, with only Rome commanding more power. 3. Meryemana (The Virgin Mary's House) The House of Mother Mary is located at the top of the Bulbul mountain and it’s only 6 km away from the Ancient City of Ephesus. It is believed that The Mother Mary spent her last years in this shrine. According to Catholic Christianity, After the Crucifixion of Jesus, Mother Mary was brought from Jerusalem to Ephesus by St. John the apostle to live. The foundation of the house is based on Anna Catherine Emmerich’s visions and was founded in 1891. When they found the house, was already collapsed by the earthquake. After The House of Virgin Mary was re-built as a church and has been visited by Pope Paul VI in 1967 and Pope John Paul II in 1979, has been registered as a place of pilgrimage. 45 minutes

5. Public Latrine The ruins of the ancient Roman city of Ephasus are located in Selcuk, Turkey. The city was the second most important city in the Roman empire during the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. One of the popular sections of the ruins is the Public Latrine, next to the Hadrian Temple and the Bordello. The public latrines were the city's public toilets, and they were built in the 1st century AD as part of the Scholastica Baths. These baths were built to provide the city with the modern conveniences of public works, including 36 marble toilets.Visitors can still see, but not use, the toilets that are lined up along the walls. There was an uncovered pool with columns surrounding it which supported a wooden ceiling. Underneath the latrines was a drainage system. There was also a trough with relatively clean water near where your feet would be. People who wanted to use the toilets had to pay an entrance fee. 15 minutes

Kusadasi One of the most popular resort towns along Turkey’s Aegean Coast and the gateway to the UNESCO-listed wonders of Ephesus, the Kusadasi Cruise Port welcomes some 200,000 cruise passengers each year. It’s also a jumping-off point for regular ferry service to the surrounding Greek Islands. 15 minutes

7. The Temple of Artemis It is known as the first settlement of Ephesians where the Temple is. However, today only the basic structure and a column remained from the temple, but worth a visit even in the current atmosphere of the temple. 30 minutes
