Join us and discover the idyllic neighborhood of Santa Cruz, the former Jewish quarter of Seville. Walkthrough its narrow streets and Andalusian courtyards in order to discover the true essence of Southern Spain. You will learn all the secret stories and legends about the most picturesque characters of Seville like Susona, a young Jewish girl who got a street named after her, Miguel Mañara or Barabba's ghost. In this tour, you will hear many different kinds of stories from the darkest to the funniest ones, and also many comic adventures about some of the historical characters that used to walk in the same picturesque streets of today. What To Expect

1. Plaza del Triunfo The monumental square of Seville. Is the place where the Cathedral, Alcázar and the India's Archives are gathered as symbol of their respective powers. The name of this square goes back to the XVIII, when a massive earthquake shaked the city. 10 minutes

2. Fuente de la Plaza de la Alianza Formerly known with different names, with its central fountain facing the magnificent Alcazar's wall and the typical houses, it is one of the most emblematic postcards of Santa Cruz. 5 minutes

3. Plaza de Dona Elvira Another typical postcard from Santa Cruz, the former Jewish neighborhood, this square covered different functionalites, warehouse, private yard and also main stage for commedies. Was enevutally open to the public for the Ibero-American Exhibition. 5 minutes

4. Calle Susona Also know with a different, unpleasant name, this street gets its origin from a local legend that blends with history. The main ingredients are: a beautiful girl, a forbidden love, several treasoms and a broken heart. 5 minutes

5. Hospital de los Venerables A baroque masterpiece hidden in the heart of Santa Cruz, with an incredible decoration and a typical Andalucian yard, was originally built during the XVII century by a very important brotherhood of Seville. 10 minutes

6. Casa de Murillo The famous painter house in Santa Cruz, restored several times it was finally open in 1982. It is decorated with tiles dated back XVI century and painting from the Fine Arts Museum. Formerly also used as exhibition center is a must see of this neighborhood. 5 minutes

7. Plaza Patio de Banderas The main square of the the Alcazar, probably the oldest part of it. It used to be decorated with princes and ambassadors flags for important occasion. Today it will give you a breathtaking view of the city at the end of our tour. 10 minutes

Our guide Julio was very nice and provided a lot of interesting facts and recommendations for the Jewish quater and the hisfory of the city in general! We enjoyed the tour very much!

Lara was a great tour guide! She was very knowledgeable and super sweet. She answered questions and explained everything. We were a small group and that made it even better. A few of us even ended up spending the afternoon together afterwards. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Essential tour of Jewish history in Sevilla

We learned so much from our tour guide, especially things we would never have discovered on our own. There is a lot of complex history in Sevilla, particularly for Jewish citizens, and this tour brought much of it to life. Our guide was very patient with all our questions and very easy to understand. It was a wonderful tour!
