Overview

Take an introductory scuba diving course in Costa Rica to sample the popular sport and experience two easy dives at the Catalina Islands. The 5-hour program is geared for people who want to try scuba diving for the first time and do not hold a qualification already. You will not receive a PADI certification, but you will get a firsthand scuba experience in the warm waters of Guanacaste.

Itinerary

Have you ever wonder what it is like to breathe underwater? If you want to try diving, but do not feel ready to get certified, then the PADI Discover Scuba Diving course is perfect for you! Although it is not a certified course, this Discover Scuba Diving is the easiest and fastest way to introduce you to the exciting underwater world. You will learn the basic skills and abilities to dive, under the supervision of a PADI professional. After practicing these skills in confined waters, you will be ready to immerse yourself in 2 extraordinary open water dives. We will take you on a submarine tour in search of sharks, rays, octopus and the wide variety of marine species that populate our waters. In the right seasons of the year, you can even dive while listening to the song of the humpback whales that visit the Flamingo Bay! Get ready to familiarize yourself with the diving equipment and see how easy it will be to get along with it underwater. Find out what it's like to breathe underwater. Learn some of the keys to autonomous diving. Have fun exploring while diving. And discover how to become a certified diver through the PADI Open Water Diver course.

Great diving! Specially with Ivan as instructor. The boat was good, the equipment is good too and everything is very well organised. All the staff is very friendly.

Diving with Ivan was amazing! As a beginner, his instructions were clear and reassuring. The sea dive was fantastic, with lots of fish to see. The team was very friendly, professional, and made the whole experience enjoyable. The fresh fruits and drinks were a great touch. Thanks to Ivan and the team!

The pool lessons was very helpful. The instructors are very friendly & kind. They wont hesitate to help you if they need to. They're also very encouraging. Jose & Angie were our instructors.

Great experience getting my PADI Open Water Diver certification from this dive shop. Everyone at Pacific Coast spoke English and communicated well over email to answer my questions and make all necessary arrangements. Ivan Neira was my dive instructor and is a very good and very patient instructor. He taught me all the necessary skills per PADI dive curriculum. The best part of the experience were the four training dives at the Catalina Islands. Not only did we practice the diving skills, but I also saw two Giant Manta Rays! I also saw White-tipped Reef Sharks, Spotted Manta Rays, eels, starfish and tons of different kinds of tropical fish. I did the eLearning portion of the training before arriving in Flamingo, one day of pool work in Flamingo (with Ivan) and two days of open water dives.

This crew was awesome. First dive experience and felt super comfortable. Ivan was our guide during our dives and made for an extremely enjoyable time. We still talk about this day and can’t wait for our next dive thanks to these guys!
