Overview

Enjoy this one-tank dive excursion for certified divers in the Costa Maya beautiful reef, where diving conditions are friendly: on an average day, we enjoy 90 feet of visibility and 82.5ºF. All our dives are boat dives (time from the jetty: 10 to 15 minutes). The coral reef boasts five different underwater landscapes and its sites are among three ranges of depths (most of them between 40 to 90 feet). Our professional and friendly staff cares -as much as the operation allows- about divers' individual needs and preferences. We do not have a maximum diving time other than air consumption and no deco limit. Please, if your certification level is Advanced or higher and you want us to consider it, send us a message.

Meeting points

Outside the gates of the cruise ship terminal, take a taxi to the Blue Kay Ecocabañas, a 5' drive, $ 4 USD per pax. The driver will take you to the Blue Kay parking area, in front of the reception. Walk towards the seawalk, the dive center on the right, close to the restaurant, about 90 feet away.

Itinerary

One dive for certified divers in the beautiful Mahahual reef. All dives are boat dives, average distance: 15'. Max ratio DM 1:5. Depth according to certification level and experience. The surface interval at the beach. Dive. Equipment included. Divers will be welcomed at the dive center where, after showing the certification, they will fill out the forms before trying on the equipment that will be set up by the staff and then verified by the divers themselves. Before boarding the boat, the Dive Master will conduct a briefing explaining the characteristics of the dive site and recalling the safety procedures. The dive sites are at an average distance of 10 minutes.

Great experience with the professional dive shop.

The dive was good. I saw a lot of tropical fishes and some of them were quite big. Also saw a sting ray. The dive master Brenda was very caring. She and her partner (Eder) led our group of six dove around the corals and valleys in between them. She was experience and I felt very safe throughout the whole dive trip. This dive shop is very professional and I highly recommended.

Good for both Snorkel and SCUBA divers

Nice that the same dive shop offered both snorkel and SCUBA trips somewhat close together so that the non-certified friend I was traveling with and I could at least share a cab from our cruise ship and be together before and after the dives. Good guides, dive equipment and a great dive!

During our cruise stop in Costa Maya (Mahahual), I had the opportunity to schedule a last minute dive. But I needed an Open Water refresher class, and Mar Adentro immediately accommodated for this. I was able to complete my refresher and an amazing dive all in the short time we were there. Gala our knowledgeable, friendly, patient, pretty instructor gave us a thorough refresher and then took us into a Mahahual dive. We had beautiful sights and amazing time. I was able to do all this and be back on time for my cruise back on board time thanks to the friendly staff, Captain Trejo and everyone in the shop. Highly recommend Mar Adentro Diving Costa Maya if your Cruise is passing by this beautiful spot in the Mexican Caribbean... @Oscar, you have done an outstanding job developing this team!
