Overview

Whether you enjoy a refreshing day on the water to cool off in the summer months or looking to venture out on one of Arizona's warm winter afternoons, kayaking Saguaro Lake offers an escape stunning scenery and diverse wildlife. Take a break from stress of daily life and enjoy paddling along diverse desert cliff-lined shores and tall canyons on a guided kayaking tour with friends and family. Some of the local wildlife you can expect to see during your paddle may include bald eagles, bighorn sheep and blue heron. The contrast of the blue water against the desert topography is like nowhere else in the world. Feel confident on the water whether you are new to paddling or have been paddling for years. Our guides are local to the Phoenix area and have been paddling the local lakes and rivers for over 10 years. All guides are certified through the American Canoe Association (ACA) for instruction, guiding, and water-safety. Each guide is first aid and CPR certified.

Meeting points

Guides will be located near the picnic tables wearing orange Riverbound Sports apparel. You must check in with your guide to receive your Tonto National Parks Day Pass for parking.

Itinerary

  • Lake Saguaro

    We will meet at Butcher Jones Recreation Site to go over the equipment and safety. From there, we will launch and paddle along the shoreline and cross the lake to Willow Springs Canyon for a snack or lunch. Returning back to Butcher Jones Recreation Site to finish up the tour.

Great Kayak Tour

We had a great time paddling the waters of Lake Saguaro with our guide Teri. The scenery was beautiful and we were taken to a secluded beach at the end of a canyon. All the gear was supplied and Teri made it easy to get in and out of the water. She was very knowledgeable of the area and answered our questions. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
