What To Expect

1. Sainte-Chapelle The Sainte Chapelle is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its stained glass windows are among the most beautiful of the Middle Ages. They represent no less than 1113 stories from the Old and New Testaments. You can count on your tour guide to tell you the best stories. The Holy Chapel is both an earthly recreation of the celestial Jerusalem and a gigantic reliquary. Indeed King Louis IX wanted a magnificent setting to house the crown of thorns. You will discover in what circumstances the Holy relic arrived in France in the 13th century. In the second part of the visit, you will discover the Conciergerie. This building was used in the Middle Ages for the king's servants and his caretaker (Concierge) in particular. During the French Revolution, it became one of the most terrible prisons. This is where Queen Marie Antoinette spent her last days. You will learn more about these events of the Revolution that shook the world. 1 hour
