Join this tour of the historic Trastevere area to explore the world’s oldest Jewish Ghetto with the exclusive guidance of an expert archaeologist. Discover this small neighborhood, bordered by the Tiber River on one side and Piazza Venezia on the other. The quarter was established in 1555 under Pope Paul IV, who revoked all rights previously granted to the Roman Jewish community. A visit to this area offers a profound cultural and religious experience, further enriched by the remarkable Great Synagogue and the Jewish Museum.

Manuela was so thoughtful and had great knowledge of the area and its history. We were astounded mixing the contrast of eras against a 2000 year old back drop. A sad but educational experience.

Loved seeing the Jewish museum and touring the synagogue. It was beautiful and the guide gave us great information about the Jewish experience during WWII. The items in the museum were very interesting. Also Toured the Jewish quarter - very busy on a Sunday..

A beautiful area in Rome

The Synagogue was spectacular. The history of the Jewish people in Rome dates back to pre-Christians. The area is, of corse old, ( it’s Rome) and very beautiful. Plenty of small cafe’s to get a coffee or a bite to eat in.
