Itinerary

  • Piazza Di Spagna

A picture with the Spanish Steps in the background is a must do in Rome! This modern monument was arranged three centuries ago in order to find an architectural connection between the Fountain of the Barcaccia on the street level, by Pietro Bernini, and the Renaissance church standing on the top of the slope. The Spanish Steps are unique for their unusual plan and shape designed by Alessandro Specchi and Francesco De Sanctis. Traditional icon of the Italian Dolce Vita, the Spanish Steps cannot be missed during a visit to the Eternal city.

    5 minutes

  • Via Dei Condotti (Pass By)

The Fashion street of Rome is home to all the big names you can think of. The street is a highlight in itself but is also well positioned, connection the Spanish steps to the central highstreet shoppers of Rome. It's well worth a visit to see some big brand stores!

  • Fontana di Trevi

Easily reach the Trevi fountain and learn about its history. Park your golf cart and capture your favorite picture in Rome. When you're done, hop back in your vehicle and continue your adventure. Work on the fountain started in 1732 after the Popes competition during the Baroque era to build something as beautiful as the Spanish Steps. The creator of the world famous fountain actually didn't win the contest but due to the outcry in Rome over a Florentine having won, Nicola Salvi was given the go ahead!

    15 minutes

  • Palazzo di Montecitorio (Pass By)

    The palazzo of political debates.

  • Pantheon

You've made it to one of Rome's most iconic monuments - the Pantheon! Discover its glorious history and step out of the golf cart to admire the incredible architecture that showcases the ancient Romans' impressive building skills. The Pantheon, a former Roman temple, is located within central Rome, within walking distance to other well known sites as Navona Square and the Trevi Fountain. Now a functional church, it is the burial place for many Resniense masters such as Raphael as well as 2 kings of Italy. The monument is very unique with a circular, Oculus roof allowing sunlight and even rain into the beautiful church. The original building was constructed almost 2000 years ago and Michelangelo was noted as saying that the design is of Angels and cannot be of human concept.

    15 minutes

  • Piazza Navona

Take a ride on your golf cart and head towards Piazza Navona to witness the breathtaking beauty of Rome's most stunning square. Piazza Navona is littered with Baroque masterpieces, including those of the world famous "Bernini" The area was originally used as an Athletics stadium in the year of 80 AD under Emperor Titus, which later turned into the city's market in the 1500's. The square has kept its original shape and the surrounding buildings were erected upon the ancient crowd stand foundations.

    5 minutes

  • Via Giulia (Pass By)

Via Giulia was designed around 1508 and dedicated to Pope Julius II as a very early example of urban renewal. The street runs from the Ponte Sisto to the church of San Giovanni dei Fiorentini, following the tight curve of the Tiber. Its urban layout was placed in the hands of Donato Bramante, who was in charge of the works at the new Basilica of Saint Peter, taking shape on the other side of the river.

  • Tempio Maggiore di Roma

The Jewish district in the heart of the city center.

    5 minutes

  • Isola Tiberina (Pass By)

In Rome there is always a surprise, like the amazing Tiber Island. Imagine to walk along the shores of the river of Rome and, at a certain moment, you will face a real island! You will find two original Roman bridges, that still today are linking the island with the city. The island is also home to a one thousand year old church! Mainly during the summer months, the Tiber Island is beautiful for its delicious restaurants and festivals that are organized here. A must see!

  • Trastevere (Pass By)

It is now the moment to cross over to the opposite bank of the Tiber river, where the residents gather and socialize in the evenings - the Trastevere neighbourhood. A quant area of Rome that has seen vast changes over the centuries. This area was home to the original Jewish Synagogue of Rome and also the oldest church of the Eternal City. During 753–509 BC it was home to "Hostile Etruscans" and once overtaken, the area was largely used by local fishermen as they took advantage of the close by Tiber river. This part of Rome was even chosen by Julius Caesar as the location for his luxury Garden Villa!

  • Basilica di Santa Maria in Cosmedin (Pass By)

This mysterious, almost freestanding artifact from Ancient Rome has unclear answers of its original. Some historians say it was used as a drain cover inside the openair temple opposite to where it stands now, others suggest it was used for blood to drip through during animal sacrifices. Nowadays, there is a big myth that, if a liar places their hand within its open mouth, the hand will be lost forever. Many replicas can be found around Italy and even abroad, however, the origin is within the covered entrance of the Santa Maria in Cosmedin church in Rome.

  • Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta

Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta is a small and picturesque square enclosed on two sides by the cypresses of the garden of the Benedictines backing the fantasy screen of obelisks and stele constructed in 1765 to designs by Giovanni Battista Piranesi, one of the very few executed designs by this etcher of Roman views who prided himself on being an architect. Ahead rises the Neo-Romanesque campanile of the Church of San Anselmo (1893-1900) attached to the international Benedictine seminary (Seminario Internazionale Benedettino). At the northern side of the square is located the Villa del Priorato di Malta. The Villa is arguably best known for a small keyhole (Il Buco Della Serratura) in the arch-headed central portone, through which the copper-green dome of Saint Peter's Basilica, can be viewed at the end of a garden allée framed in clipped cypresses.

    5 minutes

  • Giardino degli Aranci

The Orange Trees Garden is the name used in Rome to describe the Parco Savello. It is about 7,800 square meters and is located on the Aventine Hill. The park offers an excellent view of the city. The garden, as it is today, was designed in 1932 by Raffaele De Vico. It was constructed to offer public access to the view from the side of the hill, creating a new ‘’belvedere’’, to be added to the existing viewpoints in Rome from the Pincian Hill and the Janiculum.

    15 minutes

  • Circo Massimo

While navigating the vast elliptical Circus Maximus, one can embark on a journey through time to the ancient beginnings of Rome. Standing in this historic location, where more than 100,000 Romans rejoiced in the public games, one can almost hear the echoes of the spectators. Delve even deeper into the past, to the moment when the renowned Etruscan king Romulus commemorated his triumph over the Sabines in this very spot.

    5 minutes

  • Colosseum (Pass By)

Conclude your tour at the Colosseum, where your exploration of ancient Rome is just about to begin.

Gocart

Published on Nov, 2024

Angelo was an excellent tour guide, took us to great spots in Roma and it was great touring Roma at night. I recommend dressing warm because it was a little chilly while riding the go-cart. It was a great tour and worth the cold.

Best tour of Rome and you won't forget it!

Published on Oct, 2024

Dennis was the best tour guide. He took us everywhere and even to some hidden places we would never have seen if it wasn't for him. He was very knowledgeable and told us a lot of history. He spoke very good English and, of course, Italian. Even though there was a concert at Circus Maximus, he managed to get us a drive-by before the crowds started to arrive. This was the best tour we took on our 3-week Italy vacation. I would encourage everyone to take this. And, don't forget to tip your driver.

Excellent tour of the main highlights of Roma, Italy!

Published on Jul, 2024

Dennis was a fantastic guide and brought us to all the excellent sites with tips on where to take the best photos for the Colosseum, overall city, Pantheon, among many others! He also gave us the insight of which lines were worth waiting for and which ones weren't for specific sites. He also brought us to an authentic Roma Apothecary with so many aromatic loose leaf teas and essential oils. We were also staying close to the Trevi Fountain, so we told him that we had already seen it, so he brought us to other sites. He also gave us tips of which restaurants to eat at in Trastevere and to see the festival along the river. We were a family of 6 adults and had a fantastic time. It was a wonderful tour and one of our favorites!
