Overview

The Rome Food Experience, Semi-Private and Private Options available, is a 4-hour guided restaurant hopping tour that explores the richness of Italian cuisine and tradition with an emphasis in Roman eno-gastronomic heritage. During this ultra rich 5-stop dinner with drinks, you will learn a mixture of history and food of the last centuries, all the while being taken into a beautiful walking tour through Rome's historic center. In either your small group of only 6 people, or in your very own private tour, be ready to taste it all, from rustic trattorie, typical street-food, and fancy and unique high-end restaurants. Come hungry!

  • Fontana Delle Tartarughe

    This extensive, delicious, gluttonous tour begins in one of Rome's most picturesque squares: piazza Mattei. Here, at a local spot hand picked by us just for you, you will begin your Roman culinary extravaganza with a classic Italian aperitif, with a selection of meats and cheeses and wine!

  • The Old Jewish Quarter

    Now that you've tickled your taste buds and your appetite, continue on to the Jewish Quarter for a classic carciofo all giudia (fried artichoke) and other delicacies of the jewish tradition, paired with refreshing Prosecco!

  • Area Sacra di Largo Argentina

    As you go from the Jewish Quarter onto your next stop, walk by the famous Largo Argentina (commonly known as Rome's ca Sanctuary) and from here enjoy traditional Roman pizza by the slice, trying different flavours and pairing with it Italian beer!

  • Piazza Della Rotonda

    Now you should be getting quite full (!), but try to save some space as there are still two more stops! Walk to magnificent Piazza della Rotonda, and sit by the Pantheon while you enjoy your last savoury dish of the evening: Cacio e Pepe, a super classic of Roman food! And, of course, more wine!

Walking food Tour in Rome with AJ from LivTours

AJ gave us an outstanding food tour starting in Trastevere, the Jewish Quarter where we had fiori dizucca (fried tender zucchini flowers), fried artichokes, and fried baccalà (fried cod) with a glass of Prosecco. Then it was off to Alice's pizza some of best sliced pizza in Rome where AJ selected some unique toppings. From pizza it was on to a restaurant that has been operating since 1934 for pasta “alla Romana” . Delicious with a glass of red wine. AJ's style made the whole evening relaxed and fun. We ended with some of best gelato I've ever had .LivTours definetly knows how to hire excellent guides.

Great way to experience Rome!

What a fun way to experience Roman cuisine! Our tour ended up being just the 2 of us with Brando who was an excellent guide. He was fun, engaging and super knowledgeable about all things Rome and Roman cuisine! We stopped at some great places, where he always made sure we had great seats with a view, along with all the history. Our pasta course was overlooking the pantheon, and he gave us all the history for our Pantheon visit the next day which made that visit even better. We had some questions about some ruins we passed on the way to meet Brando and he took us by them again so he could educate us and it was so fascinating. This tour is so much more than just the food, though there is a lot of it, so come hungry!

Alessandro (Xander) was such a wonderful guide for our family. He took us to some of the best areas in Rome to eat (we will talk about the pizza, pasta, and gelato for years to come). The way he cared about getting to know us all felt so personal and special. Once in a lifetime opportunity for sure!! Highly recommend!!

AJ was our tour guide and she was amazing! She was very kind and friendly as she led us to different eateries around Rome. Our favorite place was the “Street Pizza” and Gelato. Yum! Highly recommend this tour if you are a foodie at heart. Come hungry!
