Itinerary

  • Colosseum

This is a 6-hour tour, accompanied by your own private guide to see the very best of Rome including, the Colosseum (inside and outside), the Roman Forum, Il Vittoriano, Piazza Venezia, the Trevi Fountan, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona and the Vatican where you will visit the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Entrance fees are included in the price. You will meet your guide at the entrance to the Colosseum and head inside this magnificent amphitheatre, the largest of its kind in the world and testimony to the engineering skills of the Romans.

    1 hour

  • Foro Romano

When you exit the Colosseum you will head for the Arch of Constantine and the Roman Forum. The Forum was the centre of commercial, political and religious life in ancient Roman times and there are some magnificent ruins that surround this vast square. You will see the remains of the 1st-century Arch of Titus, the House of the Vestal Virgins, the Temple of Saturn, the Senate House, and the white marble Arch of Septimius Severus.

    1 hour

  • Colle Capitolino

Next stop is Il Vittoriano, situated on the Capitoline Hill and only a short walk from the Forum via the Via Sacra (Sacred Way). It is one of Italy’s modern-day iconic monuments, executed in the neoclassical style in stunning white marble. You then meander through the streets of Rome to the Trevi Fountain, known the world over for its part in Fellini’s La Dolce Vita. Follow the age-old legend, throw a coin in the fountain, make a wish, and you will one day return to Rome! Next it is time for a lunch break (own expense). There are lots of places to choose from, whether you want a pizza, sandwich or 3-course meal – ask your guide for recommendations. After lunch the tour takes you to the Government District to see the Parliament Building, the Palace of the Council of Ministers and the Column of Marcus Aurelius. In close proximity is the impressive Temple of Hadrian; built by order of Antonius Pius to commemorate is predecessor. A meander through the narrow streets brings you to the Pantheon where the famous Renaissance painter and Architect Raphael is entombed. Then, you pass by the ancients Baths of Nero to Piazza Navona where you will see Bernini’s magnificent “Fountain of the Rivers”. For the final part of the tour you cross the Tiber to the smallest country in the world, the Vatican City. You will visit the Vatican Museums with its treasure trove of artworks including frescoes by Raphael and you will also visit the breathtaking Sistine Chapel to see Michelangelo’s famous ceiling. It is then in to St. Peter’s Basilica with its magnificent dome. Your guide will leave you in St. Peter’s Square where you can see the Papal Palace. The perfect end to a wonderful 6 hours discovering the delights of the Eternal City!

This tour was the best tour that my husband and I have ever been on. Anna was our tour guide, and she was so intelligent, informative, patient, and kind. We feel like we won the lottery with Anna as our guide. She took us across Rome and told us about the history in great detail. She was able to answer every single question we had. We felt like having a guide saved us so much time as we were able to see so much and not waste time getting lost, trapped in lines, or trying to look up the history as we went. We cannot recommend this tour any higher! Make sure you ask for Anna!

Claudia gave us the best experience of Rome!

This tour was so worth the money and time, we got to skip the line and learn so much. I have never had a personal tour guide but i knew I wanted to see everything in Rome and not do the multiple tours with groups and extremely long lines going solo that i had been experiencing while i was backpacking through Europe. Claudia was kind, knowledgable and a great tour guide! would recommend this service to anyone! Best experience in Rome.
