Biking with Gabriella is the Best!

Published on Nov, 2024

The luckiest thing happened that got us on this bike tour..a highlight of our week in Mexico City. Our travel friends had promised to buy us all tickets to the Frida Kahlo house, and accidentally forgot to buy the tix. My husband found this Viator Bike Ride with Tix to Frida Kahlo House. Our guide, Gabriella, was the best of the many guides we had all week. She is smart, fun, friendly, learned our names, and gave us a super informative tour. I am 64 and have not been on a bike in 3 years, but you know how it is with riding a bike! The bikes were well maintained, comfortable, and we all rode in single file following the fantastic Gabriella. We made stops along the way and she taught us a lot of interesting history, picked up churros and a delicious Mexican beverage, took us to the market for a satisfying lunch and then got us right into the Frida Kahlo House. So the value for this experience is outstanding. We have been enjoying all the Viators, but this one is our favorite so far. Highly recommend!

The best way to experience CDMX and the Frida Kahlo museum

Published on Aug, 2024

This was a delightful and unforgettable way to experience Mexico City. Our great guide, Angel, met us and was flexible about our timing thanks to our family of five being the only guests on the tour. We rode our bikes down through varied neighborhoods, ranging from very busy and built-up to the more village-like area of Coyoacan near the Kahlo Museum. Along the way, Angel stopped to give us brief histories of the areas. The whole trip felt safe thanks to Angel being very attentive to road conditions, blocking traffic for us, and keeping to about 90% bike lanes along the way. After stopping briefly in the main square of Coyoacan, we had an hour-plus visit at the Frida Kahlo museum that was super memorable. Afterwards, we had some churros with Angel and cycled back along a different route to the meeting spot, luckily avoiding rain. The bikes themselves were cruisers and OK for this flat ride. *Definitely* have a big breakfast beforehand as it's a solid 3.5-4 hours of cycling from about 10AM-3PM with no stop for a meal. Super highly recommend!

If you want an immersive experience, highly recommend.

Our guides took us through neighborhoods, parks and a local market on the way to Frida's museum. The bike trip was a highlight during our visit to CDMX.

So fun and safe! great way to see the neighborhood where Frida used to live and skip the line access is the best. our guide was so knowledgeable, funny and enthusiastic. well worth it!

Lovely day!

The guides, especially Hector, were great. They were knowledgeable about the area and it’s history. They were also very concerned with our safety while biking which made us feel more comfortable. We explored the area before going to Frida museum including getting some delicious tostadas and going to an art market. It was a lovely way to spend the day in Mexico City and we wouldn’t have been able to do it on our own.
