Overview

With NortsaV Tours, experienced local company, Rovaniemi-Ranua Zoo transfer with minivan takes aprx 1 hour.  This about 2,5 km long, self walking track, in the magical forest will allow You to meet nearly 200 animals and birds that can be found in the arctic areas. The zoo is outdoors, so prepare Yourself with adequate clothing. The excursion suits for the whole family. There are some sledges (winter) and carriages (summer) available for smaller children, in case they get tired of walking. After the visit You´ll have a free time for shopping in the small boutiques. Buffet lunch available for extra charge, bookable separately on NortsaV Tours site. Duration of the excursion is 5 hours.

Itinerary

  • Ranua Zoo

    Enjoy a complimentary hotel pickup and transfer from Your accommodations to the Ranua Zoo by NortsaV Tours, local experienced company. Transfer time is one aprx 1 hour. On arrival You will enter Arctic animal world and start a tour. This about 2,5 km easy walk in the magical forest will allow You to meet nearly 200 animals and birds that can be found in the arctic areas. The zoo is outdoors, so prepare Yourself with adequate clothing. The excursion suits for the whole family.  After the visit You´ll have some free time for shopping in the small boutiques. Snow capped scenery as engaging as seeing the animals

We had light snow on our visit, and this adds to the charm of walking around. Such pretty scenery helps compensate for not seeing a few of the animals, i.e. set yourself some realistic expectations for a winter visit. Our driver Dimitri was also good company as we walked around.

We had a wonderful guide/driver. She was so nice and great to chat with too! The zoo is amazing as well, so spacious!

The guide was very on time and took us to the zoo, enjoy around though we did not see the polar bear , while there are various of owls as well. Recommended to go on a nice zoo trip in September!

Really nice experience by Normunds. We was picked up from our hotel, then explained about the day and drive in very comfortable van to the zoo. On the way we saw reindeer’s in wildlife. Was so amazing. Then we arrived at the zoo, was guided where is everything and then we could explore the zoo without the rush. Our toddler really loved it as he could see so many animals close to the fence. Was great family day. After the walk in zoo we went to eat in buffet and it was very nice and warm lunch. Then we had free time to go and play in kids play park. It was really great, everything was clear and guided and the drive didn’t feel long. Normand is professional and very kind person! Thank you!
