The Ancient Theatre of Taormina is one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe, as well as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It has been restored to its original splendor, with a capacity of over 4,000 spectators.

Taormina's most famous landmark is the Greek Theater, built in the 3rd century BC. It was built under Hieron II of Syracuse. Completely rebuilt with all the features of a Roman theater under Roman rule in the 2nd century BC.

Built in the 3rd century BC, it has been continuously used for over 2000 years and contains many different styles. We have 11 people all together from age 7 to 84. The tour lady was very patient with us and being very flexible. One short point is we cannot be able to talk to the tour guide a day before so we could have a much more smoother experience. Overall we all enjoyed the tour.
