Overview

An amazing experience through Etna area to discover the Volcano and its lava fields and then we will go towards Taormina, where you can walk along the main street "Corso Umberto" reaching the Greek Theatre, while spending time with shopping and getting the visit of the most interesting sites as Piazza Duomo and Palazzo Corvaja. NOTE: IT IS RECOMMENDED TO WEAR SHOES SUITABLE FOR WALKING, ALSO IT IS RECOMMENDED TO EQUIP WITH HEAVY CLOTHING GIVEN THE SIGNIFICANT TEMPERATURE RANGES THAT OCCUR IN PEAKS ON ETNA, KNOWN AS ONE OF THE HIGHEST VOLCANOES IN THE WORLD Moreover The tour does not include an authorized tour guide service. Instead, there will be only a driver who will provide basic information about each of the locations included in the tour itinerary in English.

Itinerary

  • Mount Etna

    visit the slopes of Mount Etna to experience the lava fields and the incredible landscape view from Europe s highest and most active volcano, in June 2013 was declared UNESCO Heritage. The Etna Volcano is one of Sicily s main tourist attractions, with thousands of visitors every year. The most common route is through the road leading to Sapienza Refuge, lying at the south of the crater at elevation of 1910 m. It hosts a large parking, several bars, a hotel, and is a starting point for the cable car. From the Refuge, a cableway runs uphill to the elevation of 2500 m; from there, visitors can take a drive with special terrain vehicles, or take a long walk to the designated crater area at 2920 m.

  • Ancient Theatre of Taormina

    Time at leisure for an independent tour of Taormina, ideal for strolling and window-shopping. The core of the town is pedestrian and walking through its streets which indulge you in the Taormina atmosphere. We suggest you to relax in a cafe and taste a granita (sicilian-style water ice with granular texture and different fruit juice). Moreover you can enjoy an independent visit to the famed Greek-Roman Theatre or several minor sites to be discovered around Taormina.

Great private tour to Etna & Taormina

Dario was a great and friendly driver for our day trip. He arrived on time and was very kind in offering travel tips to us. We spent longer in Etna as we wanted to get the coach/bus after the cable car experience which we found very worthwhile. It meant slightly less time in Taormina which was fine for us. I definitely recommend booking this for anyone who wishes to travel in comfort.

Great activity. The journey is long from.Palermo to Etna and Taormina but worth the effort. Our driver was the best! Highly recommended.

Fabulous full day out

Our driver Dario was very helpful and polite. He assisted on our day making it flow very smoothly. Helping us with entrance tickets saving us time. He was a safe driver with a fabulous music playlist and he could sing!!!! The trip is worthwhile even though you have to travel 3 hours each way. Taormina is stunningly beautiful with plenty to see eat and drink. Oh and nice shops!!!! Fabulous trip. Thank you.

Dario, the driver and tour guide, was great! The conversations were fun and informative. Dario made excellent restaurant and site recommendations once we arrived at our destinations. The vehicle was in excellent condition, air conditioned and very comfortable all the way through the tour. Highly recommended!
