Our group was treated to an amazing bus ride and tour experience led by Noel. He was so informative and charming and took great care and paid close attention to any considerations we had. Especially as regards safety. I had some issues re claustrophobia, injuries, and just information in general. It was a lot of fun chatting with him all along the way. He's very knowledgeable and makes you feel comfortable. He goes above and beyond!
Newgrange was a huge deal for me and I had been looking forward to it for a long time, and it did not disappoint. Thanks to the tips I received from the OPW, I knew how to handle my visit inside the passage tomb and did well!! The claustrophobia did not get activated, I'm so grateful for everyone's support. There's even an area in the Visitor's Centre where you can practice going down the passage way. I certainly practiced there!
The local guide there (Miriam) was disappointing, a bit. Some of us could not hear her well as she kept turning her head away and her voice was not projecting well. When I asked if she could speak up a bit for us (my friend had hearing issues), she retorted with: " Well I can't be shouting at people, can I?" and then, "I can't take care of everyone." Wow, that was a shocker.
With Noel, our side trip to Slane Abbey was marvelous and beautiful and we were blessed to have a gorgeous day on our side. I wished we could have picnicked there! Thanks so much for making this a wonderful and memorable experience! <3
