Overview

Learn all about Ireland's heritage on this 6-hour-long private guided tour of the Boyne Valley from Dublin. You will visit the Neolithic tombs of Newgrange and get to explore the Hill of Tara in its home of Boyne Valley. You'll have a friendly and experienced guide who'll accompany you along the way. On the way home you may get to stop of at Howth Village for a bite to eat. Howth is a beautiful fishing village dating back as far as 819 when Norse Vikings first invaded the bay.  Please note the above is an example of what might be achieved during the day's activities. Your guide will go through everything with you before you start. Please note that you are required to buy your ticket for Newgrange site in advance. Details sent on booking. The tour uses a mixture of private guides and taxi guides. All guides are very friendly, experienced, passionate, and knowledgeable about the history of Ireland. Taxis have the advantage of using bus lanes to avoid heavy traffic around the city.

  • All vehicles are a saloon vehicle and licensed to carry 4 passengers. As this requires 3 persons to sit in the back seats it may get a little cramped should everyone be tall. To request a minivan please add this to your notes.

  • At time of booking, Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information at time of booking: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time

Noel was a superb driver and guide — personable, knowledgeable, fun! New Grange and the other Neolithic sites are fascinating and a “must do” experience.

Miriam is an absolute gem! We had such a pleasant time exploring the Boyne Valley with her. This tour is incredibly informative and is great if you'd like a more one on one experience. I learned far more taking this tour than some of the other tours I was on just because it was more personal and I didn't have to try to hear a guide over a group of people chatting. It's also a great option if you'd like to beat the crowds to explore the area. All in all, the next time I come to the country, I will be reaching out to Miriam for another tour she hosts.

Great Day Trip Out of Dublin

Noel was a great guide, suggested a few stops that we could add to the tour. We were a small group and Noel picked us up at our Dublin hotel. In addition to Newgrange we stopped by Howth at Noel's suggestion for a great lunch. Nice area for pictures too! Noel is very knowledgeable and can suggest places to stop based on your interest.
