A fine example of late eighteenth century Great House construction in Jamaica. With a guided tour of the grounds, you will learn about The Barrett's of Wimpole Street fame who came to Jamaica in the 1660s and amassed great wealth from their sugar plantations.

Excellent afternoon. Mix of new and old.

Excellent driver/guide. Gave us lots of information about the area from how gas prices are regulated to real estate costs to clubs/restaurants. Polite. On time. Also took us to a pharmacy to get some stuff. Both the great houses were very interesting. The antiquities and artifacts at Greenwood and the guide were a highlight Don’t miss the Greenwood. Less famous but a real gem.

Das was our guide for our visit to two [rather than three, despite the title of the tour] of Jamaica’s ‘Great Houses’. The two properties provided complementary insights into the history of the island, and its international connections. At each place, a house guide took us around the property, providing a well-scripted intro and explanations. Das provided extensive (and easily audible - not all guides are!) insights into the places we drove through, and lots else about Jamaica. And he too is to enjoy a coconut (plus its ‘jelly’) and beef patty after the tour. An excellent half-day trip!
