We had an excellent tour with Jackie. The house is full of interesting furniture and musical instruments. A real insight into life on an English owned estate of that time.

On a visit to Falmouth, Jamaica, we visited Greenwood Great House. And it was fabulous. The mansion is the ancestral home of the poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning. And though she herself was never there, the home is filled with furniture and artifacts of the Barrett family. The tour guide at the mansion was informative and entertaining and led our group through each room, providing fascinating details of the family’s history in Jamaica as well as of the house itself. And the sweeping views of the Caribbean, especially from the verandah, are unparalleled! Capped off by a complimentary drink (rum punch or lemonade) in the attached bar — in what used to be the home’s kitchen — the tour was a delight. The house is a must-see on any visit to Falmouth or Montego Bay.

My visit to the Greenwood Great House in Jamaica was a truly remarkable experience. What an amazing home! So much rich history in one unassuming place. Everywhere we turned there was stories to be told about the history of this or that. You could get up close and even hear many of the musical instruments play and the time clock work. It was just amazing. Such a unique property that obviously is loved by its owners. I thought it was so neat that they actually live in the house, in the original owners room and bed. The couple who owns the home offered some lemonade and rum punch in the bar out back. The pool area is beautiful and you could see how special this home is. Beautiful gardens and interiors and the most spectacular view!! So glad we booked this excursion on our Disney Cruise!!

The fact that much it the contents are in tact for ur to observe is priceless. The tour was friendly and informative with lovely views of the lush landscape and ocean.
