Our journey now takes us to the renowned Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, where numerous Honu (Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles) reside. Here, we have a great opportunity to witness these majestic creatures basking in the warm sun.

Next, we journey to the summit of Kilauea volcano within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, a globally renowned volcanic site revered for its significance being attributed to the goddess Pele. This park showcases two of the planet's most active volcanoes, Kilauea and Mauna Loa, offering insights to the formation of the Hawaiian Islands and showcasing breathtaking vistas of volcanic landscapes. During our visit, we'll pause at the Visitor Center, marvel at the spectacular collapsed caldera, observe steam vents and sulfur banks, and soak in the mesmerizing scenic viewpoints. A visit to Volcanoes National Park is an essential part of any Hawaiian adventure, ensuring an unforgettable experience.

Nahuku - Thurston Lava Tube

We'll embark on a walk through a lava tube, where your guide will provide insights into its formation by lava. This loop, approximately 600 meters or .4-mile trail, features low lighting, with gradual stairs leading into and out of the tube. While this portion of the tour may not be suitable for all passengers due to physical fitness, alternative options include remaining in the vehicle or exploring the natural scenery outside. Additionally, you'll have the choice to bring headlamps along for enhanced visibility within the dimly lit lava tube, allowing you to appreciate intricate cave details and observe the formation of tiny stalactites.

Perfect Way to Tour the Island with Various Abilities + Ages

We traveled with a group of 9 from a 12 year old with Down syndrome to a 73 year old. This was the perfect way to see everything in an accessible, easy pace with yummy snacks and an absolutely lovely tour guide, Adam. Prepping for the tour was wonderful. They even were able to customize to ensure they could meet a dietary restriction of our party. Adam was early and stayed later with us. He customized our tour based on what we'd love. He was full of knowledge. He was funny. He was personable and warm. He had an Aloha spirit. He even let us karaoke in the car ride!

Great volcano national parks trip

Adam was great. High energy and really knows his history well. Great trip for our family with kids ages 10, 10 and 11. We went to see the ocean and a cool lava arch instead of the black sand beach. Rainbow falls, macadamia nut farm and farmers market to get mangosteen and white pineapple. great trip. Thanks.

We booked this trip because it seemed to be the most economical for our family, but the day was worth so much more than we paid! Adam treated us so well and was a fantastic guide. He was super knowledgeable and answered all our questions. He even went above and beyond when my son left his hat in the van. I highly recommend booking this trip and would recommend asking for Adam!
